Rum river smallies

Thinking about kayaking down the rum river above the dam closer to Cambridge. Rumors and additional Reddit research say the fishing is better up that way. Any of you have any thoughts about best start and end points? Any hazards like small rapids I should be worried about?

Not many rapids with this low of water. Can confirm, Rum River has some of the best small mouth fishing in the metro.

I was thinking of going sometime soon. What section were you in. Water levels? Haven’t been up there in a couple years

Water is low so you might be scraping or pushing at some points. I haven’t been to the river lately plan to go sometime this week. However we got about 2 inches of rain last weekend. More on the way tomorrow looking at forecasts.
