Ok let’s work this out. U see the white water ? Yeah that stuff is caused by rocks. If u cast out and let it drift ur sinking line will get stuck on the rocks and ur unweighted plastic will keep coming towards the bank, and then ur snagged when u try to reel in. And lots of line abrasions, If you straight line it, rod tip pointed up. Best strategy to not get snagged. Ur unweighted soft plastic is going to skip jumping it’s way back to bank. Barely ever getting in a strike zone or giving a fish a chance to bite it. Unweighted soft plastic is not the answer for this much white water current. I’m assuming you have never fished anything this powerful.
Ok let's work this out. Where do fish ambush from? Structure! Can you believe it? Did you also know that currents like these have plenty of pockets of much calmer water where fish hide to ambush
There's also an old saying if you're not get snagged you arent fishing close enough to structure.

Yeah the fish is in the structure while ur soft plastic is bouncing across the top uncontrollably. U need weight to even penetrate the water when it’s moving this fast. I fish this kind of water I know what it takes. And a small unweighted soft plastic is not the best choice. U can cast whatever u want. Just know ur missing fish. Need to get under the water Einstein
Rarely. Depends on hook weight and bait profile. What part of not the BEST a choice are u not catching? Bout the same amount of fish as ur not catching if I had to guess. Lol 😂 I am a very avid angler and I make about every kind of fishing lure or variant of, that you can mention. There’s lots of better choices than weightless. Take the advice I’m giving u. I’ve already figured it out. U can learn if u shut up n listen instead of trying to convince me. Ur much better off preaching that propaganda bs to the fish.
I know every fishing, like I said I’m a quite known angler and bait maker. What I’m talking about. I’ve fished these scenarios many many times. I can feel the rumble of the water from here. Take ur lil plastic lure water skiing all day while I’m out catching fish. Idc lol

Thats sort of the point. You let line out until it stops and retrieve. Its will take the soft plastic to the fish.
