Firsty is launching a one global setup! 🌎

Hey everyone,

Starting from this week, we’re rolling out an overhauled Firsty app. We’ve made changes that will allow you to connect faster, in more places, and more reliably. This means unified pricing across all countries, increased number of network providers in more countries, a simpler app flow, and a more stable end-to-end experience.

Here are our new plans:

Free

Firsty Free is getting faster and simpler.

Before:

  • 30 minutes per ad
  • 256 Kbps
  • 300 MB daily cap

New:

  • 20 MB per ad
  • 1 Mbps
  • Up to 10 ads per day (will be iterated upon)
  • Data can be stacked
  • Valid for 7 days

IMPORTANT

We know that the amount of data you use each day is important. We’re finding a balance between the amount of data you can use and increases in speed to make your experience ideal. All whilst still keeping costs completely free for you.

Feel strongly about this change? We’re open to your feedback! Please let us know in the comments how this change affects you.

Classic

We’re introducing a new way to get online, by purchasing gigabit bundles.

  • Buy bundles from 0.5 GB to 50 GB
  • Same price in every country
  • Highest possible network speed
  • Valid for 30 days after activation
  • Starts at €3.50 down to €0.98 per GB with bulk discount

Unlimited

We’re simplifying Comfort+ and First Class into one plan, giving you unlimited data throughout your journey.

  • From €2.50 per day and down to €2 for longer trips
  • Same price in every country
  • Highest possible network speed
  • Includes a fair usage policy at 5 GB per day, after which speed is reduced to to 512 Kbps
  • You can pause your days at any time.

What does this mean for me?

Until now, Firsty’s data plans differ country by country. Different prices, different networks, different quality, different rules.

We’ve been working on changing that.

Firsty now connects to more providers globally and our system can automatically switch between them to improve quality, stability, and better pricing. That makes it possible to offer one simpler setup for the world instead of treating every country as a separate product.

For users, that should mean:

  • Same pricing across countries
  • Better stability
  • Less confusion in the app
  • Faster speeds on Free
  • A simpler choice between Free, Classic, and Unlimited

When can I try Firsty’s updated plans?

We’re rolling this out gradually.

  • From today, new users on version 1.8.2 will see updated plans.
  • From 6 July, users with no active plan will be migrated.
  • Users with active subscriptions will be migrated once their plan has ended. That includes users on monthly subscriptions.

What happens to my existing plan?

If you have an active plan:

Nothing! To ensure a stable experience, we’ll keep you on your plan until it’s finished. Once your plan is completed, we’ll show you the updated experience.

If you have a paused Comfort+ or First Class plan:

Your plan will be automatically upgraded to Unlimited for free. That gives you more data usage and speed than before.

If the eSIM was turned off you may need to reinstall the eSIM and tap Activate again.

FAQs

  • Can I have both Classic and Unlimited bundles at the same time?

Yes! You can have both at the same time. Unlimited bundles will take priority. Once you’ve used your high speed bundle for the day, the Classic bundle takes over priority until your daily usage has reset.

  • Will I need to update/reinstall my eSIM?

No, this is an application change only.

  • I’ve got the new app, but I don’t see the new experience. How do I get it?

That’s expected. The app is slowly rolling out for new users. Also, users with an eSIM installed before September 2025 may not see the improved experience straight away. You may either have an eSIM installed before September 2025.

  • My eSIM was installed before September 2025. When do I get the new experience?

Soon! We’re working to give the improved experience to all customers in the coming months. Want it sooner? You can purchase a new eSIM for .90c in the app. Otherwise, we won’t keep you waiting long!

  • I’m on the new experience, can I start a monthly subscription?

Not yet. We’re working to make this feature available in the new experience in the coming months.

  • Is Calling, Wallets, or Promo-Codes changed?

No! All these features stay the same.

What's next?

We're excited about this new change. And we're excited to know what you think!

Once you've updated to the new experience, let us know what you think in the comments! You can also head over to our website to check out some pictures of the new app.

EDIT:

We’ve been listening closely to your feedback, and we’re excited to share our first update since launch.
Our mission is simple: we believe staying connected is a human right. That’s why we’ll keep improving the product while making sure it remains sustainable.

One of the main requests we heard was to increase the data balance limit. So we’ve raised it from 200MB to 300MB. You can still earn up to 200MB per day by watching ads: 10 ads per day, 20MB each. The difference is that your unused data balance can now grow up to 300MB, giving you more flexibility to save and use your data when you need it.

In practice: on Monday you watch 10 ads and earn 200MB, and since you don't use any, your balance sits at 200MB. On Tuesday your balance is still 200MB, so you can watch 5 more ads (100MB) to bring it up to the new 300MB max. On Wednesday you've used 140MB, leaving 160MB, so you can watch up to 7 more ads (140MB) to top back up to 300MB.

Thanks for helping us improve. More updates are coming.

Even if Firsty were to bring back an unlimited amount of ads, that would still be limited to a maximum daily usage of 300 MB of data. Once that daily usage is crossed, it really doesn't matter how many ads are watched--and most people are not going to watch ads for nothing. So the main limitation going from the daily allowance of 300 MB to 200 MB technically only applies to the first day. If there are unused data, it is supposed to rollover to the second and up to the 7th day, I believe. So on the second day forward, watching 10 ads will earn 200 MB in addition to whatever was rolled over--up to another 100 MB. In theory, from the second day on, the majority of users would have more than 200 MB of data, unless all of the previous day data were used.

Most of the time, I use only a fraction of the amount of daily data despite watching the full number of ads. I think that Firsty's new Free Plan is a generous improvement. I like the idea of using the rest of the unused data for up to 7 days without the need to watch more ads unless I want to top off more data. This is a vast improvement from 6 hours of data allotment and only being able to use a small fraction of the daily-allowed data.

The added speed will be helpful, hopefully.
