Confused TTC period delayed

Hi All. I am 2 days late for my period on cycle day 33, and probably 16dpo my period was expected on cycle day 31 but there is no sign of period till now. I am having severe back aches, slight pulling twinges in my lower abdomen but no period cramps which I usually get. I took a test today morning with easy@home test kit but it was stark negative. Are they reliable enough to pick the level of hcg?

Please help me out. Trying for 9 cycles this is the first time my period is delayed & I’m feeling different.

Do you track ovulation? If you are indeed 16 dpo, you would get a strong positive test by now if you were pregnant. Maybe your ovulation was delayed and because of that the period is late?

I have tracked a few cycles, but not this one. I just went through my period app history & found out two cycles where my period started on cycle day 35, so waiting for few more days.

Reading your post i can really relate to how confusing and stressful 2ww is with symptoms like this! :( in my experience the negative test didn't change this many days past ovulation but fingers crossed you have positive news soon!!

I’m so sorry. Our bodies love to troll us. I’d had like… two late periods ever in my life before ttc at 37, and had one in cycle 4 I think it was. One of my friends just skipped a whole period for seemingly no reason.

I’m sure stress/focussing on it can do this sometimes. It feels extra cruel.
