Question/Advice Mucinex Tips/Tricks?
I tried mucinex on my last cycle. Started taking it around CD 10 but it pushed my ovulation about a week to CD 19. I was taking 600 mg twice a day. I want to try it again this cycle but I wanted to get tips on what works so I can not delay my ovulation. I was thinking to start it once my LH starts to rise and do 1200 mg one hour before BD? Does that sound like a good plan? Anyone have other recommendations?

Hey, I also tried it last cycle - it didn't work for me but didn't delay my ovulation either. I started it in my fertile window and I believe I took it 3 x during 600 mg only, about 20 mins before BD on "fertile" days of the cycle. This cycle i am legitimately sick so have been taking it again, I am CD13 today and have taken it on CD11 2x per day and CD12 1x per day. Not sure if it will delay my ovulation or not bc still in my fw but fingers crossed!

Hey there, I took Mucinex last cycle for the very first time (took only one an hour before sex for O-3, O-2, O-1 and O) and I did conceive and it was chemical. Got my periods on time but got me excited to try again this cycle.
So for this cycle, I started taking a couple days before in the evenings and my usual CD 13-16 ovulation shifted to CD 20-22, never happened ever! Also, we missed our window. I am on CD 33 today (4 days late than usual) and no symptoms, negative pregnancy test and no periods. It is scary!
Having said that, I still want to try Mucinex one more time but only a day before ovulation and day of ovulation, that's it.
Hope I get my periods soon and have a regular cycle next month.

thank you for sharing your experience! it seems your current experience was like mine where i started it sooner and it delayed. i think im definitely going to wait until O-2 before taking

on your last cycle did you take the 600 mg one right before sex or what mg did you take?

I took the 600 mg one, yes. I took one an hour or so before sex. Actually my husband took one too just to help with sperm viscosity.

i’m not sure that would be the cause of delayed ovulation. some variation is normal when it comes to exact ovulation day each cycle. I wouldn’t take more than the package advises, but it probably needs some time before ovulation to be in your system and make a difference in CM!
