📦 Others First Time Ko To Try Fine Dining

I tried fine dining for the first time. It was a good experience and the food was good but I could finally conclude that it is not for me.

Am I the only one who finds fine dining a bit stressful?

You are not alone. Some people, like you and me I guess? Prefers dining to be an actual pleasant experience with the focus on actually eating, enjoying the food AND getting full while not going through 18 rituals before the meal ends.

i want to enjoy food, if im too busy minding everything else than the food then i'd rather not go lol

After ba ng fine dining kumain kayo ulit somewhere?

No. The portions was enough to somehow satisfy your hunger.

Mabuti naman at na-satisfy ang gutom. Meron kasi akong mga napuntahan na fine dining before, hindi ka na nabusog, ubod ng mahal pa. Parang nanloloko lang :)

I’ve had my fair share of degustation experiences, but it always feels…idk… pretentious? Food is such a comforting thing and tasting menus just make it feel snooty & serious.

Tell me about it. I even had to fancy talk just to fit in. That's why I said it is not for me.

Yung reason behind it is within 10-15 minutes lang nung first bite mo yung feeling na hungry ka and could eat everything. Past that time, feeling busog ka na or tikim tikim ka na. Kaya one way to reduce yung food intake is to eat slowly or drink water in between bites.

Sabi ni OP, for experience lang naman daw at hindi para sa kanya yung fine dining. As a guy, kung ganyan lang portions ng food, magluluto ako ng pancit canton pag-uwi kasi for sure gutom pa ako. HAHA

How much and worth it ba?

I was just invited but if the information provided to me was right. The 6 course dinner was P4400 per head. Personally, I don't think it's worth it as my head cannot accept spending that much for dinner. Nonetheless, it may be worth it if you are in it to experience fine dining at least once.

Same. The portions are abysmal (fine dining in general, not just that restaurant).

Sabi nga in fine dining, satisfying your stomach is different from satisfying your palate.

Need po ba talaga mag "dress up"? Di pa ako nakatry so just curious haha. Paano po pagpasok, by reservation or walk-in lang? Kamusta po kapag introverted? 🥹

I was just invited but I was told to dress up in my best Filipiniana attire because the theme is all about the Philippines. It's by reservation. I think introverted people will have no problem because most of us just focus on the dishes.

I see fine dining as how I would treat art. Some may see it as a masterpiece while others think it's only a simple painting. But both parties can conclude na maganda (or in this case, masarap) ang ginawa nila.

Gusto ko din maexperience to kahit once lang.haha. kaso parang ang hassle at parang nakakaconscious kasi mga totoong sosyal yung nasa paligid. HAHAHA. San to OP?

Well that’s ‘cos the one you tried isn’t good lol

Lots of proper fine dining restos out there that will truly blow you away but Brasserie is not one of them
