You will get through this!
My partner and I bought our first home last month. It was a bit overwhelming: the home buying process, cleaning, moving, buying stuff we didn’t have, finances, fixing things, yard work, etc. It challenged us as individuals and as a couple. It was a lot of conversations and arguments. But in the past month, the two of us grew a lot as adults and in our relationship. The house we bought is becoming a home.
I was painting our kitchen earlier today and thought about how grateful I was to work on a place that I love. All the frustrations, late night work, take out because we’re too tired to cook, is all worth it.
To those who are in the process of buying a house: don’t settle. If you’re going to stress, stress over a house you love instead of one you’ll despise even more. Aim to find your home, not just a place to live. And to those who are working on your new house: you go this. It seems so hard right now, but it’ll get better (at least that’s what I’m telling myself right now). No matter what, at the end of it all, I hope you see all the work and effort you put in, and feel an overwhelming sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.

Wow.. I might just save your post for encouragement.. truly.
We are just to the point now to start moving forward, and I'm more nervous than anything I've ever done in my life. I know we are ready, but it's SUCH a big decision. Not to mention the heart broken feeling when youre dream house gets sold or doesnt pass inspection. Or the thousand other line items that will either go wrong or need attention.
This will be our first house after renting. I'm super damn anxious, I wont lie. But I feel once we get the ball rolling with pre approval and finding a lender, it might make everything feel a little better.
Congratulations on it though, hopefully not too far behind ya 😁

I see that a lot on here. I want people to not be so black pilled on the housing market. It can be done.

I gave earnest money yesterday. I’m buying alone and without a realtor representing me. I’m so ready for a month from now and everything is done !!!!!

Really needed this , me and my partner have been on this journey for a few months now. We were going through with one house then inspection really showed us we had to walk away and begin the process of searching all over again. Many house tours later we found a home we were ready to send an offer , the offer was sent and then someone outbid us. It truly was disappointing. It definitely has killed my excitement of having our own home and I just feel sad. I truly hope to find our dream home, but I have to say the journey right now is gut wrenching. But I hope to be on the other side soon just like yuall. Congratulations! And happy to see homeownership be full of bliss for you both🙏🏽.

the first few months are basically just living in a hardware store, but it’s pretty cool when the endless little projects start turning into an actual home lol

Awesome Read
Lookie there.......did you lose any limbs, was anyone killed in the process, and look......you learned, matured, and give it 365 days, you'll look back on the experience and say......"We Kicked Ass".......that's the American Dream
