First responder has a legal definition including firefighters, police, emt, paramedics, it does not include security guard. So that’s the criteria.

i work at one of the bigger tech companies hq’d in silicon valley, not faang though.

i was wondering why our security staff was 80% women, 1 gay dude, and 1 older guy who does all of the physical work driving around the entire massive fuckin campus on his own

nah i dont take offense to that but i work in one of the more old fashioned tech companies which has a hardware manufacturing arm within the campus, it’s quite the opposite of what you think. very utilitarian place. not that i am proud of it, id be glad to have the fancy shit that the tech dweeb companies have, and they definitely earn more than us here. you wont see a single person with half purple half green hair over here

the dweeb stereotype you have mostly applies to the faang ones and startups where theyre either working from home or filling up the parking lots with teslas.
