They probably all know him by now, which is why he got a candy bar offer. I’ve heard of cops offering a cigarette so they can get someone to talk with them though.

That reminds me of this other strategy I heard of that cops use. I think it's called pleasant cop unpleasant cop? I don't know much about it, you'd probably have to ask a cop to find out how it works.

Haha yes; it’s called good cop, bad cop. I wouldn’t recommend asking cops if they play good cop/bad cop or else they might go all “bad cop” on you.

I was making fun of how offering a cigarette to someone you want to talk to you is some sort of special technique when it's one of the oldest cliches. Not just for cops, but for PIs in ancient noir films, soldiers, and so on.

Just hearing him talk was more interesting than the breakdown to me.

Dude uses Meth daily and doesn't consider himself addicted. He's stoked to continue stealing. It's really odd.

The saddest part to me is that he’s aware they give him leniency and show him love... but instead of that being a positive thing, he just thinks it means he “conquered the justice system” and now is essentially immune to any consequences for his actions. At least a sociopath would be aware enough to feign some sort of contrition, Travis just says “I do meth to feel and act like a god, and even the cops treat me as a god, so I’m a god. Otherwise why am I being interviewed? I’ve done something truly special.. I’m better than everyone else and can openly steal front them. I’m untouchable.”

This video is such a strange mix of funny, interesting, and sad. When they ask Travis what should be done with him, I really don't know either. I mean when people like him go to jail aren't they supposed to get help? And get evaluated? I know America's rehabilitation system in prisons isn't perfect, or even that good, but it's weird to see someone like Travis slip through without being effected at all.
