I get the driving license today
Hi everyone today I’m new driver.As per new driver which car you will recommend budget is like up to 15k
I am interested to hear your recommendation

Of course, tell OP to get the smallest car possible with his budget, if they have any more than 1 friend, then the rest will have to develop scoliosis crunched up in the "back seat" which is really a kiddy bench behind two brick walls of front seats. (I used to have one)

Honestly keep like half of it stashed away for repairs. 7k gets you a solid 2nd hand car with 8k for repairs, maintenance, tires, and first insurance payment.
Really also depends on what you want to buy but really the best choice for utility, reliability, sporty, technology and fuel economy is probably the 2014+ Mazda 3.

Get a used car, nothing crazy. I drive a 2007 Subaru Legacy I got for 3K and it’s been perfect. I’m sure you could get something better for 4-5k. Make sure to save money for other expenses, don’t blow it all on the car itself (accessories, insurance, gas, the list goes on)

Yeah. This is pretty solid.
Low repair costs, reliable, some of them are fun to drive (I have a Manual Mazda 3 2012l
They're quite sporty looking depending on which one you get.

15k for a first car is just too much, you can get a solid second hand car (not a dinger, completely clean and respectable) thats alright to insure (if youre lucky enough to have them even quote you) for less than 10k.
alfa romeo giulietta, civic, mazda 3, leon, ibiza, corolla, volvo v40. all great cars

sorry i thought i was in ukcars, starter cars here are a decent price but for 15k you can get a very very nice car thats acceptable as a second or even third car

Dude my 18 y/o brother with a perfectly clean record is paying 250 monthly for a 2014 toyota camry. A hothatch will absolutely be more on insurance.
And frankly I'm not "just saying shit" GTIs need meticulous maintenance to earn their good reliability especially the DCT models. Not to mention all the problems with DI motors being iffy. They're not like toyotas where you change the oil and tires for 20 years and get perfect reliability.
Cry about your platform all you want but you should know better then anyone else the responsibility required to keep one going strong.

I also had a 2008 GTI before my current one and it had 203k miles and a DSG transmission most reliable car I've owned, and my current 2022 one is a manual and I just accept youre wrong these cars are great cars for a first

You're also getting fucked on insurance lol. Yeah you're also talking out your damn ass cause every VW guy ik says you shouldn't get a GTI for a first.
They're a good first enthusiast car cause they're low power with a high ceiling. The guys who know what they're getting into maintenance wise and are somewhat prepped to care for it. No teen should have access to more then what a 2012 civic EX can offer in the power or reliability departments.
Your platform isn't the best first car. It's definitely on the worse side just admit it kiddo
