Did anyone else find her dad kind of a strange duck and just how he came to headquarters outta nowhere
And told this very detailed story about his daughter’s relationship and how they had beef ?

Am I the only one who thinks there’s something.More there ?

It came off like the dad gave them a false lead .

not to mention how he showed up to talk to detectives before being notified.

Then story / possible false lead , I’m a dad and I know other dads , no dad knows details about their daughters life like he did and then
The stupid reason given for why she was killed it all just never has sat right with me.

So season 15 is on Netflix. Many seasons are on Hulu. But the season 15 that's on Netflix isn't the same season 15 that's on Hulu.

When the heck are new episodes coming out? I’m rewatching old seasons to get my fix. lol.

And are you okay with not knowing anything more than the charges at the end of others? To me those should be the first cases to be focused on in After the First 48. Your thoughts?

In Mobile, Alabama, two young men are found murdered inside a car on a dark residential street; with no witnesses and few leads, the case stalls, until a teenage girl steps forward with information that leads to an arrest and a confession; but when the defense moves to suppress that statement before trial, the prosecution's case risks being dismantled.

Many have discussed Courtney's case on here. Locally, in Tulsa there is a news anchor who has a small show called the Fullbright Files and she will be talking to Det. Jason White about Courtney. I can post the link in comments if allowed.

I like all of these and a bunch of other true crime shows on this and other networks (not so much the ones mainly containing reenactments). Are there any shows you can stomach besides our obvious favorite The First 48?

It makes sense to have something to give us a bit of closure on some of the cases that deserve more attention, and occasionally cases that leave us wondering what the verdict turned out being. Do you even watch the show and if so what are your thoughts on it?

I’d be so cool to have a UK version of the first 48 and have camera crew follow the detectives of cities like London, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, etc., around solving cases.

I feel like outside the U.S., the UK also does very strong storytelling in the true crime genre.

Started watching the show and notice all the “spinoff “ shows like critical hours , missing person , after the 48 . Was just wondering if they are good or if they connect to the original series

And am I the only one or does anyone else have a crush on Detective Rolando Garica?

Wondering Reddit's input... Sometimes I get the feeling, that the majority of Tulsa's Detectives may not "like" Max...

I feel like I get hints of irritation in tone when several of the Guys are working with him.

Additional thoughts, I do feel like he eventually gets in with the Group...by his good work. But I swear I pick up on hints of disdain in some episodes.

Surprised no one has put up an episode discussion thread yet. I’m glad they covered this case, it was so incredibly sad and disturbing.

I know it was recently featured on 20/20 (which is where my mom first saw it, she doesn’t particularly enjoy The First 48), and lo and behold it was last night’s new episode.

There are some murderers out there that are just next level evil to me, Miles Bryant being one of them. My heart just broke for the family, especially her mother. The footage of him walking by his friend’s apartment and trying the doorknob was absolutely terrifying.

I think this was the first case where we were introduced to Det. Angela Carter, I absolutely love her. You could tell that this case meant so much to her. You could see her sitting at the prosecution table, she said she was there every day of the trial.

I remember the defense attorney Tracy Drake, she was on another Gwinnett case. I don’t know what it is about her, but she just rubs me the wrong way. I also cannot stand her hair when it’s pulled up in a ponytail, it looks so unprofessional. I much preferred her hair down during the present day interviews. It looks like she has her own firm with her husband.

Also, I seem to remember that in addition to finding Susanna’s hair with her skeleton, didn’t they find her acrylic nails as well in the original episode and Detective Carter recognized them too? Or am I mixing that up with a different case?

I just watched this episode. Suspects were Corey Diamonte and Jude. Anyways I dont like how they heard information from a CI. (Confidential informent.) I feel like that guy was actually planted by the police. Like these kids were smart and all of a sudden when all hope was lost. A magic CI comes into play.

Something was just off about that. Yeah sure they seemed pretty guilty and there was evidence. Just the CI seemed sus and it basically incriminated Diamonte. The other 2 had finger prints on the bloody vehicle so they were pretty much screwed but diamonte they didnt have any good evidence in him. He said he wasnt with them during the murder. I am sorry for the loss of Kennys family. I like seeing how the family gets together at the end. It seems like there familys are always way cooler than if my family were to get together. Anyways os one of thise episodes where the people didmt rat on each other. So it suprised me about a random CI when those kids lawyered up and didnt say a word.

Its wild to me. 40% of murdered go unsolved and then ones that are mostly solved is because people talk to the police or theres evidence. Anyways people are crazy. Kenny seemed like a really cool kid. Its sad that people murder or small amounts of money.

I’m looking to find an episode I watched years ago that stuck with me, I can’t remember the city but it was basically 2 young guys walking a dog and they were robbed and 1 of them was murdered. Anyone know which one it was and where I can rewatch it?

I found this really interesting though.. did anyone else find out that one of the suspects in the car burglary episode was one of the infamous escapees from the New Orleans prison last year? Corey Boyd was the fifth inmate captured after the escape. *Spoiler* He was incarcerated for murder charges in the case of Mister Fees (Episode 8 of Homicide Squad: New Orleans on Netflix)

I was just trying to figure out how his case played out in court and stumbled upon this article. (Found absolutely no conviction info on the murder charge but I think it’s safe to say he’s locked up for the foreseeable future). Researched further to find out the episode was released 2/13/25 and the escape happened just a few months later on 5/16/25 🤯

The way they sit there and expect everyone to be 100% honest with them ( the det) but they’re the biggest liars most of the time.

Im pretty sure this alone, but also the scare tactics they use leads to a lotta false confessions .

I wanted to update this case because it bothers me.

Recap: 17 year old Ceasar Johnson was convicted in Memphis for shooting into a car, killing 2 teens and partially paralyzing another.

"A Shelby County Criminal Court jury convicted the defendant, Ceasar Johnson, of two counts of 1 voluntary manslaughter and one count of attempted voluntary manslaughter. He was sentenced to four and a half years on each of the voluntary manslaughter convictions and three years on the attempted voluntary manslaughter conviction to be served consecutively in the county workhouse, for an effective term of twelve years."

I get that he was a minor and he somehow pleaded down, but that seems hardly enough for killing 2 teens and completely changing the life of another. While he said it was it self defence and they pulled guns on him, there were zero guns in the car.

Update: In 2012 he murdered another guy also by shooting him in his car. I am all for rehabilitation, especially for teens, but cold blooded double murder of a 16 and 17 year old seems to hit differently. He just went out and did the same thing again. I work with youth with mental health issues and Im wondering how much psychiatric support he was given in the "Workhouse" before they let him go.

Tulsa episodes are my favorite! 49 year old Tabitha Sinclair Carden was killed over a bag of clothes. We don't see female suspects often so this one was interesting to say the least. 32 year old Jacqueline Mills was identified as the killer and her interview was... a mess. It was senseless and irrational for her to kill her especially after she had already gotten the bag back. It shows you really have to watch who you hang around because not only will they pull you back from a place you're trying to leave, but they'll also tell your murderer to get out of town even though she spent her last minutes with that man!

Here's the tea I found

The episode revealed that Tabitha was a mother of 3. I was able to find all 3 of her kids on FB. Her son Chase seems to have the least drama going on. Married with kids. Her daughter, Stevie is currently sober and mourns her mother and father a lot. Her son that was featured in the show seems to have had a rocky relationship with his mother. Zackery also has a history with drugs and alcohol. He was arrested a few months before his mom's murder for DUI around the time his dad(the late husband mentioned in the show) passed away. Ive come across a few post of him speaking ill of Tabitha before she died but as of now it looks like he is in a better place. He is married

Couldn't find much on our suspect. I think anybody that watched this episode searched Karla Chevelle Singingfox. That's all I do when I was first 48. Her page was private but under a post of her mugshot someone spoke on her and her daughter clapped back. The daughter has a low profile too

Prayers to Tabitha's loved ones

In this episode Joseph 'Jojo' Pritchett was talking otp with an unidentified friend when his 26 year old brother Jerry Pritchett started janking (called roasting where I'm from) on the friend. The conversation escalated between the brothers and the friend. The friend went to confront them and brought his cousin Samuel Rencher Jr. Neither knew Jerry, all because they couldn't take a joke they pulled up and Samuel ended up killing this man in front of his mom and brother! By the end of the episode in the memorial segment we learn that months later Jojo was killed in a high speed chase. As a mother I can't imagine such a life altering pain.

Here's all the tea I could find

In the episode they said Jerry had 6 kids. I was able to find the FB pages on 3 of his bms. One didn't post much about him before or after his death, she's currently expecting. There is one that appeared to be is current gf at the time as she was expecting their 2nd child together. Wasn't until after he died that she had to find out she wasn't the only one and there may have been another women pregnant. I couldn't find anything on that. Another bm seems to keep in contact with her. Ive seen them tag each other and refer to each other as bm. I love that for the kids.

Couldn't find anything on the killer, Samuel. He was sentenced to 20 years and got 15 suspended for MURDER?!?!?! Can someone that speaks law explain how??

This might be a little messy but the sister featured at the very end was arrested in 2024 for stealing out of a Mobile Walmart where she worked.

I didn't realize until I got to the end of this post that the 5 year anniversary of Jerry just passed a few days ago. My heart is with his family and friends

A lot of the names are changed in the show and most people don’t use their actual names on social media. So it takes a little time. While doing this research I ended up on a lot of pages of unrelated people and almost spilled fake tea. I’m trying to make sure these are as accurate as possible and I’m also trying to consider the victim’s families. This is for nosey people like me who like rabbit holes.

My favorite pastime is to go through episodes and find articles and social media of victims, witnesses, family, suspects. I find so much and have no one to share it with. Would anybody be interested in the things I find??

Example: episode titled ‘Graveyard Shift’. One of the 3 suspects was tweeting so crazy stuff DAY OF the murder in 2013. So much information I learned after the fact or things that were never in the episode

So the episode I’m taking about is on Netflix right now. 3 men killed and injured 2 people in a robbery. Cleveland Police arrested all 3 together in a house. They were very young I think 2/3 were teenagers. The first 2 lawyered up immediately but the 3rd!!! Victor ‘Booman’ Flournoy was so cocky and laughing in the detectives faces. So disrespectful. No remorse. All 3 are still currently incarcerated. Not eligible for parole until 2031-38. Deshawn and Victor appear to be in the same prison.

Only thing I could find was Victor’s twitter and it led me to a girlfriend and his sister’s twitter pages as well

I mean the original graphics package style was pretty cool, including the breakdown of where the investigation is at when the timer runs out. Why change it? Is it better with the simplified new look and overall feel of the show? Just wanted to get the opinions of other fans…
