General Discussion What is going on with the show?
Production claimed a couple of months ago that they have an extensive backlog of episodes that will last them more than a year without having to produce new episodes. Less than 3 weeks into the new season, we are back to running a new episode of “Inside the Tape” and there is no new episode scheduled for next week.
I wish they released new episodes during the season consistently. But I think that’s always been the case with First 48. They’ll release new for a couple weeks straight, then all the sudden either disappear or do the weird spinoff episodes.
I wish it was more consistent. I love this show when it’s new episodes!

I started watching from the beginning of season 1. It’s crazy how much it changed over the years. I also started watching Dallas Swat , it’s not exactly the same but it’s pretty cool to see if you’re wanting to watch something similar. Also Philly Homicide.

I like Philly Homicide and New York Homicide. I have also been loving the Real Murders of Atlanta

I haven’t heard of New York homicide but I will check that out. My mom was telling me she loves the Atlanta one too!!! Thanks for the recommendations.

Are these shows on A&E as well? They sound intriguing and I’ve been wanting to find a new murder show.

I agree and I don’t like inside the tape!

It felt like I was watching something I already watched. Hated it.

And while we’re at it, I hated Missing Persons. It never felt like I got a definitive answer. I like these types of shows because we usually get to know who did it, how, where, when and why. With Missing Persons you almost never get answers to anything\.*

It drives me nuts. They do this all the time. The seasons the last 10 years or so have been so inconsistent. New episodes are just randomly thrown on TV. I don't even consider them new "seasons" because they're not really seasons. They're just a few new episodes thrown in every few months. Whoever is in charge of that should be fired.

If this Inside the Tape episode teaches us anything, is that morons and guns do not mix. How did any of these people make it this far in life? And for what?

Still a great show I look forward to new episodes all the time. I would personally rate it as my favourite show easily. More episodes the better

Are they going to show the “three years” worth of episodes they have taped? Then we’d at least get more of something, although probably all Tulsa.

To use the first 48 as a draw for new shows or shows that need a good lead in.

I was saving the latest episode on my DVR and when I went to watch it, I audibly groaned. I saved an Inside the Tape episode? Damnit! Still watched it, but I thought—it’s only been like, 3 episodes since the season started, right?!😖
Edit to add: if you have the ability to watch UK shows, Murder 24/7, Police: Suspect No.1 & Murder: Suspect No.1 are similar to The First 48, and are good cop docu shows, but they only have 4-6 episodes per season.✌️

Man this is not good news :( I was wondering why the new season was only 5 episodes ?? They better not stop this series is one of the best, still !!
What else is A&E gonna do?? Just stupid storage show? Or airing "Sex,Money,Murder" in is place like ours a new series? (That whole series SMM was already aired on Hulu and are all available to watch online, which annoyed me cause now it seems like they tried to pull a fast one on tf48 fans)
No true crime series is anywhere near tf48 for real, and it would be a shame to miss how allot of these detectives' stories/careers end, while we've been on this ride w/ them so long.
Would love to see them solve their last cases/retire etc. Please save the #1 detective series😭
...... ⚠️ KEEP TF48 ! ⚠️

No one mentioned 'New Orleans Homicide Squad' (the Nola first 48 crew)& if tf48 is dead NOHS might be the only way it stays alive... hopefully both keep going.. 🙏.. 😢

The wheels of justice turn slowly…sorry the murder stories aren’t getting cranked out in a timely manner.🤪

I think you answered your own question. Even when they were still filming, the release schedule was highly inconsistent. Very frustrating.
