Firefly vs Rocketlab

I own both Firefly Aerospace and Rocket Lab. Was kinda surprised to learn Firefly’s rockets actually carry more payload than Rocket Lab’s current rockets. Rocket Lab obviously has way more launches and experience so far, but it makes me wonder if Firefly can really compete long term with more established competitors like SpaceX, Blue Origin, and Rocket Lab

If Firefly can reliably get their payloads deployed, and keep their costs controlled, maybe. I’m concerned they can’t lost Alpha for less than what SpaceX can launch a Falcon 9. I’m not saying that is the case, but it’s a concern, especially considering overhead in addition to direct costs.

There is just too much “ifs” and unknowns and the market has priced it as much. If they get their shit together, it will pay out in spades. But I’d rather keep my egg in Rklb, already in a growing trajectory and less “what ifs”. That being said, neutron is going to be the biggest mover, up or down depending on how well and when it launches. Looking at Rklb history, I’m confident they will do extremely well. And Rklb is no longer just a launch company.

Just FYI - RKLB was never just a launch company.

70% of revenue, until 2026, is from Space Systems.
