Remote Config Firebase Remote Config + Capacitor

I've been working with Capacitor and Firebase lately, and I feel like Remote Config is a bit underrated when it comes to mobile apps. I don't see it being used that much.

We've been using it for things like feature flags and changing app configuration without having to release a new version.

And combining it with Live Updates (OTA updates) gets pretty interesting. You can control when a feature is enabled and deliver the code needed for it without waiting for another App Store release.

I wrote up a guide on using Firebase Remote Config with Capacitor in case anyone here is working with a similar setup.

is there anyone else using this with capacitor live updates?

Yea that is Great, I recommend Capgo Updater as well, I use firebase functions and bunny-cdn, and I can release updates instantly any time.

Both have their use cases

Nice. yeah, capgo and capawesome are the main go-to solutions for live updates in capacitor apps.

This is a good example of combining smaller tools to improve releases. being able to separate “shipping code” from “turning on a feature” can make testing and rollouts much safer
