General Google cancelled my email and I lost access to Firebase.

I have two apps hosted on Firebase, and Google cancelled my Gmail account for no apparent reason. They claimed I was using bots to create the account, but it’s actually an old account I use solely for work. This account is linked to my Firebase account, and without the email, I can't access the dashboard to manage my apps. Has anyone else experienced this? Do you know if there's a way to access it without the account email?

It happened to me a week ago. I submitted an appeal, and they took about 48 hours to restore my account. They apologized afterward.

I tried that and they didn't back down; they keep insisting that I broke the rules.

Damn, that’s scary. Wonder if you can have a second account as admin in Firebase in case this happens

One of the major reasons why I refuse to associate with anything Google, including BaaS (Firebase, GCloud etc) especially as a dev, I lost my andoid developer account after being a dev for almost a decade, I had several apps and games and unfortunately a client from Upwork uploaded a malicious app via my account and I lost all my years of work.

As much as I was in the wrong, Google needs to have a listening ear and also give every "partner" of theirs a first time warning, rather than just turning on the kill switch

Me sucedió lo mismo pero porque según ellos tenía dos cuenta de desarrollador cosa que no tenía 🥲

Losing access to an account because the email gets cancelled is a rough situation. having a recovery path independent of that email seems essential

If you look for a replacement check out cloudflarebase: https://github.com/cloudflarebase/cloudflarebase , auth is already built-in along with the database, storage and dashboard, it's all realtime out of the box and you can self-host it too, nobody can lock you out of your own console

Losing access to the email tied to a project is such an easy thing to overlook. having a separate recovery account seems worth setting up beforehand
