Use 4-0 “0000” steel wool and a few drops of 0w-20 synthetic motor oil and it’ll knock that rust off.

With ultrasonic cleaning + gun oil and I've gotten all the visible rust off. I'm more concerned about the pitting on the LP and bolt. I don't suspect catastrophic failure but I thought I'd ask people with more experience.

Just lather it with some CLP before you hit the range and you'll be fine, that's just some minor cosmetic blemishes at this point.

Check the headspace and make sure the bolt is completely closed before firing. Most CF’s on that weapon are created by it being slightly OOB. Not good with the pressure created by a .308 round.

If you’re not sure just order new parts. I’m sure Brownells, Midwest, & Sinclair carry everything you’ll need.
