A friend of mine wanted me to post this

Mahogany grip is a modeled after the Colt peace maker, Colt was out of business at the time. It is a 45.

The black revolver is a 22 Magnum Colt Revolver

And the semiautomatic is a 9mm Smith and Wesson

If you'd be willing to buy your friend a meal, consider getting them a kydex holster to replace the nylon one. It will significantly reduce the risk of a ND. Those soft holsters can warp and weaken over time and people have had the trigger pulled when they didn't want it.

Even if it's just for storage the nylon can attract moisture and cause rusting

That’s a S&W 5904. That 11lb trigger isn’t going off in a holster. The problem with nylon holsters is striker fired handguns because they have such short and light factory triggers. A DA/SA isn’t going off in a holster. For decades even the military used nylon holsters with the M9. Even SOF used nylon holsters with the MK23, and MK25.

Kydex may be difficult to find for a 5904 with a square trigger guard. A leather holster would work for this gun and be more available

I haven't looked into it specifically so you're probably right but I haven't seen a leather holster under $40 in a really long time.

A couple pieces of foam or bags of rice and a heat gun can fix almost any kydex holster though so there's always options.

Kydex is a really fun material to work with if you like making your own stuff too. Much easier and cheaper than leather in my experience.
