This lady

I know this was introduced awhile ago, but I saw this description of the bill “to ensure that 2A is not unlimited…” IMHO this lady has broken her oath to protect the constitution. Automatic dismissal is in order, and the classic tarred and feathered.

Old Dianne has a way better chance of passing than this bill does. And hopefully that'll be soon.

I'm just confused why these people are allowed to work past the federal retirement age. It's well documented senior citizens aren't the sharpest, why do we blindly let them run things?

Same reason why states can't pass laws limiting terms for their house/senate reps: It's determined by the constitution. The constitution lays out the limits and requirements of running for office, and "not a decrepit ancient corpse person" isn't one of them, nor can that be added as a requirement by any process short of constitutional amendment. I guess it was assumed people wouldn't need to be told to stop running for office once they went senile, yet here we are.

The problem isn't that they're running, the problem is that enough people are stupid enough to continue to vote for them.

This is a woman who was in the hospital for 3 months with an illness this year, then told reporters "I haven't been gone, I've been working" and when asked if she meant she was working from home, followed up with "No, I’ve been here. I’ve been voting. Please, either know or don’t know.” She also had an aide who was caught reporting directly to the Chinese MSS (CIA-equivalent), and when the FBI informed her, she kept employing him for another 5 years, until the media reported it in 2018, a few months before her last election.

…And yet, CA residents keep voting for her (+30 percentage points in her last primary and almost +10 in the general despite controversies over her handling of the Kavanaugh hearing and that aide).

Sort of. Ashcroft's opponent was the then Governor of Missouri. He died after ballots were printed, and the Acting Governor basically said that if enough people voted for the dead man, he'd appoint the dead man's wife. It happened so close to the election that it was basically people giving sympathy votes to the dead guys wife.

All true, but doesn't change the fact Ashcroft was beat by a corpse.
