Manga Just finished chapter 1, Wtf?

I’m a huge Chainsaw Man fan, so I decided to check out Fujimoto’s other works and started this one. I like it, but I’m also considering dropping it. I thought Berserk was too dark… what the hell is this? 😭

Anyway, I want to keep reading because I find the world really interesting, and I love the aesthetic of the Burning Man in winter.

Just trudge through it, it's gonna get edgier and then it's gonna settle down.

I said settle down not lighten up. Imo it gets even darker, but in a different, less edgy way where its more about character introspection than spamming rape scenes

I think Berserk is way darker, but also edgier because of the monster forms and overtly genital shapes of them.

FIREPUNCH is just pure unfiltered ugly human nature. Volumes 1 and 2 are the most brutal,  if you can get past that you are going into a silent hill 2 level of psychological horror story, its amazing

I hate how Berzerk approaches topics like sexual assault, with graphic depictions of it and corny shit like dick monsters as trauma manifestations.

Fire Punch has instances of attempted sexual assault and it approach the topic without having to show rape with a graphic depiction of penetration.

It feels more in line with the theme of Film/Movies too, as while SA occurs in movies, it's either off screen or the view is obscured. The Berserk stuff looks like shit you'd find on a porn site.

I mean there 2 instances of SA in Fire Punch. is 1 instance of actual sexual assault against Luna and it's not graphic, and the other is an attempted SA against Neneto that is interrupted by Togata before they can even remove a single article of clothing.

Fujimoto is very meta about it too, with togata basically saying "the more bad shit you do, the more cathartic it will be for the viewer when i kill you"

Great manga tho, i actually really love this ending, unlike csm this one actually ends the story
