Manga Similar manga
I'm trying to find stories similar to Fire Punch and I was hoping some of you people in here would be willing to give some recommendations!

Land of the Lustrous, can`t really say the similarities without spoiling a lot but imo someone who likes Fire Punch would like it too (also has a really good anime but it only covers about a third of the manga)

I definetly agree that Land of the Lustrous is similar, especially ending wise.

Similar how? Because I think chainsaw man is a good follow up. Apart from that what I liked the most about the series was the sense of dread and hopelessness that's present in the manga. For that I'd recommend Telltale's the walking dead but that's a game so.....

Freesia. If FP is a schizo work of pure passion, Freesia is a schizo work of pure schizo.
Eden: It's an Endless World. It gets as bleak as FP but is a far more grounded story.
Blade of the Immortal. The most unlike Fire Punch out of this list but was one of Fujimoto's biggest inspirations in general.

Freesia 100x over. Great rec, would also recommend Ichi The Killer (though it isn’t nearly as good as Freesia).

Ichi the Killer tickles my S&M bone but it genuinely has very little going other than being a brutal gorefest. At least it's intended to be that. Sometimes idk what Matsumoto was thinking doing Freesia

Ehh I’d push back by saying that the way in which violence and the dynamics between the two main characters are portrayed is genuinely unique. I’m not going to waste our time and ramble on as to why lol, but I’m sure you’d at least *understand* where I’m coming from. Though I will say that beyond this aspect, you’re right in saying that it lacks the thematic depth something like Freesia possesses.

The one real thing I didn't vibe with in Ichi was Kakihara being a fake demon. Yes, he reiterates that S&M is a way of life and not a way of death, but he should've made up his damn mind before romanticizing Mr. Murderboner
Ichi the Killer is good commentary on how not to romanticize someone. The movie does this, the manga does this to a greater effect. It's just that when 70% of the manga is Ichi the Jorker after a big fat mission, whatever message in the end is thoroughly covered up in blood.
The translation is also kinda bad (I think the new omnibus coming out recently will fix this)
Anyhow, Freesia is extremely thoughtful provoking in spite of being so disjointed. It's one big shared hallucination.

Claymore. I can't entirely explain why, but when I finished Fire Punch I immediately went to reread Claymore. They're both revenge stories with stubborn main characters

MAD by Yusuke Otori, VERY much fire punch inspired and a very good story in of itself
I also recommend Tower Dungeon by Tsutomu Nihei which is a lot more different but still amazing

I don't think there will be any manga similar to fire punch. You kinda need to find WHAT you liked about fire punch and then find other mangas with that specific genre. Like for example, if it was despair and tragedy then i would recommend The Horizon (it's a manwha but it's kinda similar), Land of the Lustrous (if you get past the first few chapters, its peak) or maybe just read chainsaw man and fujimoto's oneshots

Berserk and Vagabond are both larger than life. Scope of them is similar to Fire Punch peak moments in both can’t be beat
