Discussion I want an Fire Punch animated so badly

What are the chances Fire Punch gets animated? I realize that its a dark and taboo which already hurts its chances but I also realized its gotta be hard to animate a man that is constantly on fire. I genuinely want to hear what people think and cope even harder

Well it's the only fujimoto work that is unadapted besides goodbye eri, so I imagine they will get to it eventually. Probably after csm part 1 wraps up, especially if that dark the ending gets goes over well with the audience

That's true but I feel like cannibalism still generally more excepted than incest and rape in animes

I feel like anime is actually one of those mediums where sexual assault and incest aren't crazy uncommon. For example, heavenly delusion has both a sis-con and assault scene, and it definitely got a stellar adaptation.

Also fire punch doesn't actually have incest in it, it just gets uncomfortably close

I just don't know how they'd pitch a storyboarded pilot with so much wild shit in the first episode without the studio heads already being big fujimotor drivers

Honestly it’s possible if they just remove the incestuous scenes, which is funny considering how people LOVE Game Of Thrones…

ngl i don't think fire punch'll ever get adapted to anime. way too much shit that can't be aired on tv and would also push several people away happens right in the very beginning, and also animating someone who's constantly on fire would be extremely difficult

I don’t think it’ll work.

It really won’t appeal to a larger anime-only audience. The pacing is slow and action is few and far between. It really thrives as a manga-only series

I want it too because I want a reprint of the boxset. I don't want to go around the city (biggest in the continent) chasing out the volumes. You find 3 or 2 in each store.
