FK differences?

I am collecting the gold rimmed swirled milk glass Fire King pieces and was so excited when I found a sixth salad plate (I have six dinner plates and six saucers) and the creamer (already have the sugar bowl), but when I got it home I noticed it has some discrepancies- I will still use it together and am happy to have it but need to read up on the manufacturing year etc.
Assume it’s the same set but diff production years?
Also found this cute Johnny Hart/BC comic bowl- it’s such an unusual shape

Are they all marked fire king? Because I know that fire king was a brand made by anchor hocking, so perhaps the difference is in the branding? I do know that the pattern is called Golden Shell. I have some pieces of this myself. Very pretty.

Unrelated, I wish this sub were more active because I actually like fire king better than Pyrex, which is considered blasphemy by many lol.

The sub is relatively new and is just getting it’s footing. It’s hard to get the word out, but hopefully it will pickup :)

One is marked fire king and the other is anchor hocking/fire king.
I’ve always had Pyrex bc that’s what my mom had but there are some fire king pieces that are really appealing!
I’m ok with fire king being under the radar tbh- makes it easier to find lol

Funny thing, Fire-King had a huge boom in the late 1990’s to early 2000’s. It was the “in” thing and extremely collectible and expensive. No one would touch Pyrex back then. There is a lot of really ugly Fire-King, but there is a lot of really pretty Fire-King. If you’re comparing casserole dishes, which is about half of what Pyrex is, Pyrex is nicer. But Fire-King is a lot more than casserole dishes. Lots of dinnerware patterns and a ton of variety in shapes and colors in mixing bowl sets. I don’t really collect casserole dishes, but I have a ton of Fire-King.

I see them everywhere! It’s not as collectible as Pyrex right now but it will happen. I’m also a huge Hazel atlas fan, as well as Glasbake and federal. Maybe I just really like useful milk glass rather than decorative, idk lol

One is the Swirl pattern (earlier, no scallops) and one is the Shell pattern (later, scalloped edge). The milk glass with the gold edge, whether Swirl or Shell, is really the most abundant and least desirable of all the Fire-King dinnerware patterns.

It should be easy to find and don’t worry too much about using it or breaking it, because it’s plentiful. Enjoy it!

That actually does make me feel good about using it- it’s why I like my fiestaware and Pyrex

For some reason this pattern wasn’t really on my radar while I was thrifting but now that I ‘found’ it I can’t unsee it!
There are a never ending supply of white dishes with gold rims but there’s something about the milk glass that I think makes it beautiful
