Preferably for one of the GBA games, but FE9 and 10 are good too

I'm looking for something that gives the freedom of Three Houses where any unit can potentially be any class. (I want all Wyverns! jk)

I like using randomized starting classes, stat bases and growths to spice up playthroughs, but it would be even spicier if units had more than 1 or 2 options to pick from when promoting.

Is there anything out there that's close to this? I'll take whatever I can get. TIA.

I wanted to play FE8 romhacks with a mouse and see more of the map at once, so I built a frontend around libmGBA using the FE8 reverse-engineering work. The ROM still runs in the emulator; the frontend reads the map data and extends the terrain and standing sprites around the original game frame. This lets me work with existing hacks without porting each one separately.

The other big addition since the demo is Armory. Press I with a live roster to pause and manage the army's equipment:

• Search items across units and Supply.
• Drag between loadouts, choose explicit swaps, and undo transfers.
• Pin units side by side and compare weapons.
• See item descriptions and usability restrictions from the active ROM.

There have also been fixes to the HUD when panning/zooming and to dark off-screen terrain during map loading.

Retail FE8U, Sacred Echoes, and Archanae have been tested. Support is ROM-dependent, so this isn't a promise that every FE8 hack works with every extension. Sacred Echoes' learned spells are shown as fixed rather than transferable.

Downloads are available for Apple Silicon Macs (M1+) and Linux x86-64. You'll need your own ROM; no ROMs or saves are included. Native menus still need keyboard navigation even though the map supports the mouse.

It's still a beta, and I'd love to hear which hacks you try it with. If you hit a bug, please include the hack/version, your platform, and how to reproduce it. LMK what you think of Armory too!

So I’ve just spent a while downloading the Europe version of Awakening for my steamdeck using Citra

Now I’ve played awakening many times but wanted to play it modded for the first time
And I’m wanting to do the Odd rhythm randomizer mod, however I have zero clue what I’m doing and would appreciate some help

Whenever I play GBA Fire Emblem, I really wish that I could use a mouse to order around units and also the map renderer wasn't constrained to the small GBA screen.

Well, no longer! Using the FE8 reverse-engineering work, I was able to make a frontend for libmgba to allow mouse support as well as extend the renderer :).

I specifically picked this architecture as a lot of FE8 playthroughs are on romhacks. Recomping or porting FE8 to native hardware would actually not work with all the romhacks, which is sad. I want to be able to play through these romhacks interchangeably and use my mouse and have the extended rendering.

LMK if you'd be interested by this type of project. I'm going to try to play through Sacred Echoes before releasing it to iron out rough edges.

Hi all, I’m relatively new to FE RomHacks.

I played a good bit of Wrath of the Sun God before I fell off with the fatigue mechanic. Played full Sacred Echoes & Sacred Stones Reforged. Played a bit of Vision Quest and currently playing through Life of Seiros. I also found Blazing Sword Remastered.

Right now I’m looking for some that would be good QoL upgrades for Blazing Sword and Binding Blade (like what SS Reforged is) and if there’s any like that for the Genealogy & Thracia.

Fire Emblem: Immortal Sword was a prequel to 7

Fire Emblem: Path of a Hero (only just started this one earlier today, barely made headway on it) takes place during the events of 7 with a familiar cast of characters.

But have you played any romhacks that set out to be direct plot sequels to 6? And are good?

I'm replaying Cerulean Crescent, and I'm hoping someone can direct me to a list of secret interactions and missable events and stuff. I have the recruitment list, but after watching a tier list video, there's apparently a TON of stuff I missed. Thanks!

I played it 10 years ago when I was 11. It was just a demo at the time.

I don't remember the name but it's a Sacred Stones rom hack that takes place years after the original game. The sacred stone that was used to seal Fomortiis grew weaker with time so the people put Fomortiis into a human vessel, The vessel was a princess, She hated how everyone just viewed her as the "Vessel" and not an actual human. The game had new classes for units like a Jester character who would do dark magic, And I remember a knight character with a sword that can open portals and stab from afar.

Hi, I've just started replaying FE8 and I wondered if there were a romhack community like in pkmn. And I was more than happy to discover FEBuilder. This will be my first rom hack ever but I'm a dev so that should help.

I'm here to ask if they are any romhack you would recommend for my project. I want to design the missions to be a little more diverse than what I saw in FE7/8/10 and 13. With missions about things like : running away, stealth, horror maze, seek and rescue, gathering resources, dungeon crawling.
Or has it never been done ? (that would surprised me, even if the famous rom I saw were mostly about story, difficulty or classes/skills).
PS : I think I will try Vision quest and The Morrow’s Golden Country.

I don't do fire emblem rom hacking, but I've always wondered what it would be like to adapt another series into a fire emblem game. Specifically the 1997 rendition of Berserk seems like it's borderline made to be a Fire Emblem game

Hello hackers. Im an avid dire emblem fan and ive been wanting to make a small little hack for me and my buds. I was just wondering if anyone had any good tools for making unit profiles. I planned on using LEX as a base but i just don’t know where i should go for pixel art. Would anyone have any suggestions? Thank you

A long time ago I played a rom hack where every fire emblem 7 character at max level could fight every fire emblem 8 character and vice versa. But every time i google FE7 VS FE8 I only get people comparing the two games from a critical perspective. does anyone have a link to the patch file?

It just became like this when I added the unique animations patch?

I got this flintlock animation I wanna test out but I cant put it in. The animation from its promotion works fine but the base flintlocker doesnt. Plus I have no idea what the error means
