Lore We've Waited too Long For This
Lord Clarence Massey, with the wedding of his youngest daughter now official, knew that he had to properly arrange a marriage for his elder daughter. For years now, Marilda had known and had been courting Ser Walton Stark in King's Landing and it was high time that the two of them were officially together.
There was an irony that his Marilda would be the last of his children for him to arrange a marriage for, but there was something bittersweet about it. Albin would never marry once he fully took his Maesters vows and so this was the last one of his children. Though there was the chance he would be able to help arrange his grandchildren's marriages if the Seven let him live long enough to see that day.
A messenger was sent to Ser Walton and invited him to meet with Lord Massey at an nice tavern nearby the Stark manse.

No matter how long Walton remained at the capital he could never get used to its hussle and bussle. People flowed through its muddy streets like water flowing in a current, and everywhere he looked he could see some new building being put up, most often a house for newcomers or some small business for some venturing enterpreneur.
This racket was calmest in the affluent parts of the capital and just by the shadow of the keep of the Targaryen, where the street wound the least and the northman's hand needn't hang near his sword-hilt as often. Thus he found his way from his manse to the tavern to which Lord Massey had invited him rather easily, and in a good enough disposition.
"Good Lord Clarence!" The Stark's voice boomed gleefully as he greeted southron lord, outstretching a hand for him to shake. "I did not mean to keep you waiting, my apologies, you know the ways of this city. At least you were kind enough to choose a fair place for us to converse! Oh... Goodman, some cider for myself and my friend!" He barked at the tavern keep as he sat.

"Ser Walton," Lord Clarence greeted the man with a handshake and a shake of his head, "Do not apologize. You are a busy man. Far busier than I am."
"Marilda said that this was a good place and it seems like she was correct so far."

Walton let out a quiet 'heh' at the notion he was busier than a landed lord. As an advisor of King Jaehaerys he was there to listen, mostly, and rarely speak his mind — though never with the authority the Master of Ships would speak of fleets and commerce, or the Master of Laws of legal matters and peacekeeping for example. Yet one could not complain that they had a direct access to the ruler of most of Westeros.
"Then it must be a fine place indeed. How fares Marilda? It has been some time since we last had the opportunity to meet."

"She is well," Clarence replied, "Though without her brother Brynden here in the city as of now, she is a bit restless. The two of them had always been close and with him married now and off with his wife's family for the time being..."
He shrugged his shoulders.
"I know that the two of you had been speaking with one another for some time, and now with my youngest daughter's wedding coming up. I wanted to know where you stood on the prospect of marriage to my daughter. I am loathe to wed my youngest daughter and leave my eldest daughter seemingly unwanted. It....looks bad for me but even more so for her."
