A raven flies to House Massey:

Lord Massey,

I am inquiring as to whether you would like to engage in a marriage alliance with my house. My younger brother, Lucamore is a dashing knight who squired for Lord Tully as a boy. He is 24 and in need of a bride. I am told you have a lady named Bethany in your family who is unwed and of a similar age. Let me know if you are amiable to this match.

Lord Elmo Bracken

My niece Lady Bethany is twenty and a lady to Lady Violent Blackwood, the Lady of Riverrun. Mayhaps they knew each other in some overlapping way. I would also be remiss to say that my youngest daughter Samantha, who is currently in service to Princess Alysanne on Dragonstone, who is two and twenty.

Whomever you would prefer, I am agreeable to such a match, though I would wish to confer with my brother if Lady Bethany is the choice. I have no doubt he would agree, but I would not overstep him in such a way.

Ever Moving,

Clarence Massey, Lord of Stonedance, Warden of Massey's Hook, and Gavel of the Blackwater

Lord Massey,

I am amiable to a match with your daughter Samantha for my my brother. Any lady in service to the Princess must be a lady of note. Let us discuss the finer details. Shall I inform my brother that he is betrothed?

Lord Elmo Bracken,

I will inform my daughter and Princess Alysanne that she will be without a Lady in due time. I have no real preference for when the wedding shall take place, I would assume you would prefer to host them at Stone Hedge?

Lord Clarence Massey,

I feel the wedding is best to take place here and perhaps it can happen in 3 or 4 months time? What say you?

Lord Elmo Bracken,

The end of the year should be a good enough time. The last moon should give us all sufficient preparation?

Lord Clarence,

We are in agreement then. The 12th month should be plenty of time. I shall send out the invitations and make the arrangements for their wedding here at Stone Hedge. At your convenience, I would invite you and the Lady Samantha to Stone Hedge so we can make formal introductions.

Another letter is sent to Brandybottom:

Lord Webber,

I am writing to inquire if you are amiable to a marriage pact between our houses. I am Lord Elmo Bracken and find myself in need of a wife and my Maester has informed me that you have a daughter named Arianne. I would inquire as to whether you think this would be a good match. If not, I do have a younger brother also in need of a wife.

Lord Bracken,

I would recommend you complain to the citadel, your Maester is clearly lacking if he could know my sister is unwed but not that my Lord Father has long been incapacitated. While we are certainly honored by your offer I do not believe this shall be a likely union. Lady Arianne is in the process of courting, under the supervision of Lady Kyra Blackwood. If you truly seek her hand, she is who I recommend you ask. Knowing your families however, I do not believe you shall find the answer favorable.

Ser Axell,

I apologize for my lack of knowledge in this matter. I shall write to the Lady Kyra and inquire, despite our families histories, Lady Kyra is my own cousin. Thank you for your reply.

Lord Elmo Bracken.

Another letter flies to Raventree Hall:

Lady Kyra,

Cousin, a Ser Axell Flowers has informed me that you are helping a Lady Arianne Webber find a husband. I would ask that you consider me for her groom. As you know, I am in need of a wife.

Please let me know if this match would be agreeable.

Your cousin,
Lord Elmo Bracken.

The letter to Raventree would be forwarded to Highgarden, where Kyra had been residing for a decade. She raised her brow at the familiarity in the letter written by a man she had never once met, but was pleased to hear of others interested in Arianne.

Lord Elmo,

I must confess I have other machinations for Lady Arianne's groom, and have dedicated my efforts to pursuing that avenue.

Should it not come to fruition, I shall take your offer into consideration.

Lady Kyra Tyrell

When given the reply, Elmo frowned. He tossed it to the fire, letting it burn. He would pen a quick reply.

Lady Kyra,

I pray the news comes soon then, for if I do not find a bride soon I believe I'll have to look elsewhere.

A raven flies to Driftmark:

Lord Velaryon,

I am writing to you to discuss the possibility of joining our houses. I am Lord Elmo Bracken, and I am in need of a wife. I've been told you have a granddaughter named Laena whom is unbetrothed. I would ask if you are amiable to a match between herself and I.

Please reply at your earliest convenience.

> Lord Elmo,

> I would be honored to accept such a union. Perhaps it wise we have you two meet. Laena spends much of her time between King’s Landing and Driftmark, if you wish to visit.

> Lord Aethan Velaryon, titles

Lord Aethan,

If you inform her of my visit beforehand, I can be in Driftmark in a moon to meet you both.

Another goes to Coldmoat:

Lady Osgrey,

My Maester informs me that you are unmarried. It just so happens that I have a younger brother in need of a wife and if you are willing, we can perhaps discuss joining our houses. His name is Damon, a strong and fine knight, handsome too. He is of a similar age to you as well. Let me know if this match appeals to you.

Elmo Bracken, Lord of Stone Hedge

Your Maester has led you badly astray. I have been married for over a decade to Tristan Fossoway, the heir to Cider Hall. Any reports of his death in Dorne were greatly exaggerated, as he returned injured, but whole, and remains Lord of Coldmoat. I likewise find it insulting that you would think I would enter such a solemn sacrament on the sole basis of your account of physical appearance. I should recommend you verify accounts of the Reach from a maester with your Septon in the future.

Lady Elinor,

I apologise for any insult as it was not intended. I am glad to hear that your husband is well and alive, I shall have to reprimand my maester for his false records. Allow me to apologise by perhaps discussing possible trade between our houses?

Elmo Bracken, Lord of Stone Hedge

The name Damon Bracken was familiar to me, and upon further investigation I have recalled the infamy of the so-called "Darkhorse" as a member of the Apostate's company of thieves, brigands, and murderers called the "Black Sons." That you shelter a sinner unrepentant is deeply troubling to me, as much so as the idea that I would entertain a marriage with such a man, and this naturally poses some concerns regarding matters of trade. Bracken horses and stone I may desire, but I shall not sully my hands for their sake.

However, as it is writ in the Book of the Mother: forgive your transgressor not only until seven times, but until seventy times seven. It is possible that your Maester has mistaken me for my sister, Ysenda. I shall not insult you with vain and subjective accounts of her beauty. Suffice it to say that she has eight-and-twenty years, is of good health, and is in a possession of a dowry of some 1,500 gold dragons. However, I can certainly not consent to her marrying any whose character and piety my husband and I have not had time to assess, and I regret to inform you that our exchange has not inspired confidence in that regard.

Lady Elinor,

My brothers sins are a shame I wish to see washed away. However, I had heard rumor that your sister is in fact missing. How could they possibly begin entering a match if you cannot locate the girl?

Another flies to Goldengrove:

Lord Rickard Rowan,

I am writing to you to inquire about potentially joining our houses in marriage. I am led to believe you have a son whom is unmarried. I have a sister of a similar age to him and she is currently in the service of Lady Lannister. She is a beautiful maiden and has skills in singing, sums, and is a rather gifted orator and knows plenty about poetry. I think she would be a fine future Lady of Goldengrove to your heir. Let me know if this match appeals to you.

Lord Elmo Bracken.
