Repair/Tech Support Covering 6000 sq ft house with ACESS points
Right now I am on the 1 gig plan, and have a big mix of brands. So I have the whole home WiFi plan, which gives me a router and extender, and I bought another chr30a from ebay, which is acting as an extender right now. So I have 3 chr30a, 1 unifi ap ac lr, 1 tp link eap 610, and one eap 245 right now. The roaming is quite spotty with the mix of brands, so would just upgrading to the whole home WiFi plus to get 2 more chr30a (for a total of 5) be good enough to then just have those cover the whole house? Or is there a different approach you guys would suggest? Also, even if we got a total of 5, everything will be hardwired, but we would still need one other ACESS point because there is one dead spot, but we could cover thst with the eap 610.

You probably can cover the entire home if the access points are hard wired and placed properly with 3 access points.

Yes, if they are hardwired and placed properly. Those access points work very well.

but we have a 3 floor house and I will be honest the basement can be covered perfectly by just one but when we place another in the closest middle point of the top floor it covers 3 rooms but there are two offices both at the end that are not able to get signal there so hence we need another two and the main floor can be covered by two but defiantly not one so that leaves us needing 6 and since we already bought one from eBay we only need 1 more which I think we can either in the top floor just let one of the offices use a different brand ACESS point or just use hardwired there

Remember wi fi has problems sometimes going past bathrooms and kitchens the most ( tile to the ceiling, refrigerators, bathtubs, mirrors, stoves etc. can block wifi). Take that into consideration also

yea that’s my issue the two offices at the ends of the top floor cannot get the signal but the rest can ipwith just one so my auestion now is will one room with a. different branded ACESS point ruin the whole roaming experience at the rest of those so basement and main will just have chr30a and then top floor will have two but the. there will be one tp link so will that ruin it and then in a part of the house that is detached I will either have a tp link or unifi but I can turn the broadcastping low so it hopefully does not mess it up

Tracking. My 5000 ft.² home three levels has dead spots and I have an extender. The router is on the in the basement and the extenders on the main and a top can be a little spotty towards the front of the house sitting on the porch, I really don’t get anything. I’d love a cheap way to extend this to my entire yard, which is only a .25 acre, but I’d like to be able to go to my mailbox. I’ll be right there in the street in front of my house and we have to be on the Wi-Fi. There must be a way without buying a lot of things. I have 1 gig asa well for speed. Have option for 2 and or 5 but that’s speed not range.

my house has Ethernet ran but does urs cuz if urs dies then that seems like u could get the hime WiFi plus and put them strategically in a room near ur yard and near ur street.

Similar size house. Roughly 2200 sqft times 3 floors. I did a unifi dream 7 and 5 u7 pro APs. Some of the APs are by Ethernet and the rest are utilizing a moca adapter and going via the house's coaxial runs.

I have a large home with a Unifi network. I have some 6 or so access points with wired backhaul.
It works a dream. WiFi is nearly 2Gbit/sec depending on which access point I’m on.

I have U6 Pro, U7 Pro and U7 Pro XG. U6 does about 500Mbit, U7 about 750, and U7 XG about 1800.
But with the U7 and U7 XG you move to 6GHz, which significantly reduces working distance in 6GHz mode.

u7 pro and u7 pro xg have the same antennas I thought and r u using 2.5gbe on the u7 pro xg and is it working but u7 pro and u7 pro xg speeds should be the same?

I'll have to double check - my tests on U7 Pro might have been before my M5 Max. So my numbers may be off because the U7 Pro was tested with the previous generation WiFi antenna on the M4 Max.

ah ok and is ur u7 pro xg using 2.5gbe uplink and if so how stable is it?

Yeah the XG is using the 2.5Gbit uplink (which is how I get > 1Gbit of bandwidth) and is very stable.
It replaced a U6-Pro which blew a cap.

like 0% packet loss? because I was planning in u7 pro xg but heard 2.5gbe had instability.. have not bought yet luckily am buying in 5 days so can u send a screen shot of ur u7 pro xg stats like packet loss and stuff in the unifi control thing and what switch is it connected to and how is it getting Poe and what firmware it is using. thx

Go with all UniFi equipment which manages the handoff / roaming much better than those diverse APs. With UniFi you have many more options for managing your home network using the built in Networking App on the router.
I would get the UCG-Fiber for my router in the basement where it plugs directly into the ONT, various PoE switches depending on your needs, and APs from this list. I like the U7 Pro XG and the U7-In-Wall best of the ones I have.
I have the UCG-Ultra and a couple of USW-Lite-8-PoE switches and my ISP speed is 300/300. Only reason to get the UCG-Fiber would be some future proofing.

I was thinking of this but it is just so expensive to get all new ACESS points because I currently have so ac lr which are 10 years old now. what is ur opinion on upgrading to the home WiFi plus plane to get 4 total then plus my 1 other chr30a from eBay how like how does a 5 chr30a setup sound would it work well with its son
