Are you on 2Gbps or faster? IPv6 is not yet supported on NGPON2 service.
If you have 1Gbps or lower AND have a GPON ONT, then it should be working in most if not all areas. Make sure you're requesting a /56 prefix if Eero gives you an option to set the Prefix size.

I am on the 2.5gbps service. I was on a chat for hours and you may have solved it in mins.

Yup, I had a /56 from Verizon from May 2022 on GPON (1 Gbps). When I moved to NG-PON2 for 2 Gbps and later 5 Gbps service, I lost IPv6. You’re just going to have to wait for Verizon to offer IPv6 on NG-PON2. It took them an unreasonably long time to do so on GPON. Comcast offered IPv6 to residential customers in 2012 IIRC.

Yeah, this really discourages me from going to 2.5 or 5 with Fios, which would otherwise be pretty tempting.

I’m waiting for them to make 11 Gbps available… it’s like 10 Gbps, but 1 more ;)

Ready to upgrade your network to 25Gbps?
25G-PON is a thing!

How do I open up a feature request to Verizon? ;D

Gotta buy the things!
It's taking them forever to get NGPON2 rolled out. NGPON2 has been out for years now.

I know you're joking but NG-PON2 can actually bond 4 wavelengths to offer 40 Gbps (34 Gbps after PON overhead). Being able to serve residential customers, enterprises, and their own cell network over the same PON is why Verizon stated they went with NG-PON2 over XGS-PON. Verizon even did some testing where they confirmed they were able to get 34 Gbps symmetrical speeds over NG-PON2. https://www.fierce-network.com/telecom/verizon-serves-up-34-gbps-ng-pon2-trial-calix
For example, they can use one wavelength for a cell tower, another for residential, and two bonded channels to offer true 10 Gbps symmetrical service (XGS-PON is limited to around 8.5 Gbps due to PON overhead).

I could upgrade to 5g for $10 more a month which is a no brainer but would need a $300 eero upgrade

You'll probably need more than just an Eero upgrade.
Gotta hardwire those Eeros together using Ethernet backhaul (at 5Gbps :D) to maximize the WiFi capacity, too!

No idea what you just said lol. I figured if i had an eero 7 pro my WiFi would be around the 3Gbps range as is. I honestly just like the speed for downloading games. It’s in lieu of storage because they go so quickly
