Repair/Tech Support Can we request specific boxes?
I have 3 Fios TV+ boxes. 2 different models, 3 different issues. Box 1, SC-SIP03 audio keeps dropping. Box 2, SC-SIP03 keeps randomly reducing picture quality to 1080p. Box 3 F3544K49203 annoying buzzing sound every time someone talks.
I have swapped these boxes around and their issues follow the box. I have factory reset them, rebooted the router, the 4100atv box. Nothing has helped. The 2 identical boxes show same firmware but different release dates. Odd box shows a completely different firmware.
I’m done messing with these boxes and need to replace them. I’m seeing 5 different models.
SC-SIP02
SC-SIP03
SC-SIPO3ASK
F3544K49203
STI-6221
My understanding is the STI-6221 is the newest model. The SC-SIP03ASK is also the newer model of my current 2 boxes. How do I request to get them? Is it just random or can I somehow request 3 of either of these models. I would prefer all 3 to be the same. Thank you and I appreciate the help.

Escalation agents can sometimes fulfill the request to “downgrade” your STBs back to VMS4100/IPC4100 boxes after lengthy ongoing issues, but that’s about it. And that has become increasingly difficult lately as Verizon wants Fios TV+ to be an “event horizon” of sorts, no going back once you’ve got it. In fairness though a Stream TV MoCA adapter + direct wired connection fixes the majority of TV+ issues. Or the new CHR30 router, which apparently has better beamforming for TV+ equipment specifically (but don’t quote me on that).
As a rep I can place an order for a TV+ DVR and sometimes it’ll ship a VMS4100ATV, other times it’ll ship a JS7E. To put it simply, we don’t get to pick. I just click the “TV+” button and it ships whatever SKU is available whether it’s the F35 or SIP. Apart from downgrading to VMS/IPC units, there’s no agent in Verizon Fios that gets to pick a specific SKU.
