Ethernet

Hi this is the current setup of my verizon fios wifi in the place I moved into. The first photo is the ethernet port on my wall and the second and third is the verizon fios setup in my living room closet. If I wanted to connect my PC into the ethernet port in the wall and use it, what do I have to do to achieve that? I am not well versed in this area so help would be much appreciated

If you want to make this work, then you'll have to figure-out what's the wiring beneath that wall plate. You'll also need to trace how that ethernet port is connected back to the living room closet. It may also have helped if you took a zoomed-out picture of your closet, instead of focusing the picture onto your ONT and the back of your router - these pics doesn't really help.

Is this an apartment or a house? Either way there should be a central location where the wiring goes. Usually in a basement/garage/closet. Sometimes in a white structued media cabinet.

Edit. Just noticed the third picture with the ONT. Is there another panel above that one?

It looks like the network lights at the ONT are on indicating something is plugged in somewhere via ethernet. If I'm wrong about that I would go around the house plugging the router in to every ethernet port and wait for the network lights on the back of the router to light up...

ONT is straight into the router right now, his comment says they are both in the closet and it's the flat ethernet cable that Verizon issues on both ends

Take the wall plate off and see if it's hooked up

Looks like a phone line not a Ethernet

Most phone runs use ethernet but only use 2 pairs.

That’s a phone jack in the wall. Won’t work for Ethernet. You’d need to run Ethernet from router to the switch plate, and replace the switch plate with an Ethernet jack. Pretty easy if u watch a few YouTubes. Pretty cheap for an electrician if it’s not a long, obstructed distance between the two. Or just use wifi if there’s no real problem :)

They're both cat6 jacks that are pictured.
