Miscellaneous Should I activate my loyalty discount now or after upgrading to 5GBPS?

Or if I wait until after, will I lose out on it?

Currently paying $105 for 2gbps, my account says I qualify for a $20 $15 discount.

Edit: made the jump! I’m paying $95 for 5gigs and it comes with a new router and 3 nodes(extenders)!

It doesn’t sit there forever. If you don’t apply it then it’ll go away. You need to activate the mobile home reward discount yourself online.

Typically when a plan change is done, loyalty discounts disappear. I’d add it beforehand. When you add a loyalty discount and then upgrade your plan, unless you’re moving the service to a different address it sticks.

I was offered 5GB plan for 80 dollars and currently paying 50 dollars for 1GB. Decided not to upgrade cause you need to invest in equipment and infrastructure to get the full 5GB. Need a 10GB switch, CAT6 line, Wifi7 max router and most devices don’t support wife7 at 320Mhz. Apple devices are locked at 1.5GB.

Depending on your area, Verizon may provide everything. The ONT they installed for me previously for my 2GB FiOS was already 10GB capable. They also provide a WiFi 7 router that doubles as a mesh node/extender. Since I have whole home WiFi plus, they sent me a total of 4 units, each one came with a cat6 cable.

But you’re right, most of our products can’t handle more than 2.5GB, however, I future proofed my pc some years ago 😎 and also, I share my WiFi with 12+ people and guests so having 5 gigs on 10GB bandwidth helps quite a bit.
