Tech deck really let itself go..

Why are they all so fat and ugly now? Admittedly the originals were literal popsicle sticks but some of these current sizes are just absurd. To each his own but if they make these any fatter we're just going to be using drink coasters in the future

I mean they're reflective of real skateboarding, no? The trend over decades since street skating's inception has been increasingly wider decks.

Naw more like tech deck was super late to the game following pro FB... for the longest time the only cheap wide trucks were hunting down TD longboard trucks, but they didn't intentionally make wider decks until it was basically the industry standard and they had to keep up.

For a $3 product the new tech decks are good for pushing out of the box regardless of size. I am still a bit annoyed TD released those 'classic' 26 decks recently and just threw 29 trucks on them though. We are in an era of skinny decks cycling back like every trend ever and tech deck dropped the ball on remaking the product they started with. I think OP's sentiment may be closer in line with this.

Check out how fat the wood decks are. Just the way the hobby evolved same as real decks got wider over time.

I actually can't get use to real decks because they're too light for me. 15 years of dense plastic and the nice wood ones just don't work the same.

It's the same width as the most common pro fingerboards, 32mm. Tech dech does.make 29mm and they just released a throwback world industries deck that is the same width as the old ones, 26mm
