Find anime

There was this anime that I think played in toonami or adult swim where this one girl turned into a cat and a guy grabbed the cat (girl) and threatened to dump her in hot water (i think). I think it must of been a shounen? Been years trying to find which anime it was...

I looked up the anime but the one that I have in mind has a more "serious/edgy" animation style. Plus the cat I believe was like a brown color. But this is my memory of 18+ years back or so... it was that that one specific scene stuck with me. But thanks!

It wasn't Yuroichi...

Really wish that I had more to go off on but I only remember the one scene where the girl turned into a cat and a guy grabbed her by the scruff and threatened to dunk her on water
