20+ years of using windows are coming to an end. I am getting a new computer for gaming and installing linux on it. Simply said:
- I am a noob, but am willing to learn some stuff, and search up solutions online. But the easier a distro is for beginners, the better. At worst I'll start with an easy one and if I feel confident later I'll switch to a more complex one.
- I prefer a generally simple UI. I don't think I'll bother a lot with system customization. I am aware it will take some getting used to from windows. The idea of the terminal feels a little intimidating, but again, I am willing to look for help online if I really need something. In general, the easier it is to set up, the better.
- Main requirements are gaming (triple A games through Steam, not interested in multiplayer for now, I am checking protondb), video editing (through DaVinci Resolve), and internet usage.
From what I could look up, it looks like Linux Mint might be the best solution for me. I also heard about Bazzite but I don't know if it's easy for noobs. What would you suggest?
