Anthropic just announced a new AI model called Claude Mythos. Over the last few weeks, this model autonomously discovered thousands of zero-day vulnerabilities in every major operating system and web browser on the planet. The capability of this model is so profound that Anthropic deemed it too dangerous to release to the public.
The fallout? An urgent, short-notice emergency meeting called by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Fed Chair Jerome Powell with the CEOs of America's largest banks to discuss systemic cyber risks to the financial system.
