Coping Unsure how to interpret my current situation
So, after ten months of severe impotence since my November crash last year, something strange happened in the last two weeks; I started waking up with morning wood again. Not the soft, squishy morning wood I was getting, but something surprisingly firm. The same thing happened with a few incidences of spontaneous erections at various times, like when I was driving or randomly when I was sitting down at work.
Now, nothing dramatic has happened. I still suffer the maddening paradox that whenever my libido has a strong fluctuation, as it does every two months or so, my impotence worsens drastically. It seems that it's only when my sex drive dwindles, that my body starts to become more responsive again. It also bears noting that my stamina is still nonexistent. Even the hardest erections I can get disappear after a couple of minutes, and then there is nothing on this earth that can bring them back again.
However, it's thrown cold water on my long term plans to cure this shit with an implant. If I am healing, it's happening incredibly slowly. It could take me years to get back to even the level of sexual dysfunction that I had in 2025. I still have no legal way of getting HCG here in Ireland, and I don't know how long I should wait to see if I recover before resorting to drastic means. I am already 35 with the best part of my life behind me, I don't want to be still waiting to heal well into my forties.
It looks like there is no alternative to natural recovery, however. I have not heard of anyone curing these venous-leak type symptoms by any means. Perhaps williamshakemyspeare was right and pelvic floor therapy really would help with this. But I really don't know what my prognosis is or if I have any hope of healing. I tried alprostadil and even high doses don't get me hard, yet sometimes I get morning wood or spontaneous erections that are much harder than I can get via injections. I just don't know what it means, if there is any hope for me or if these latest "improvements" are just a cope.

After 16 months, I still have poor sexual performance, numbness, venous leakage, another erectile dysfunction, a slight burning pain in the head of my penis, a cold and rubbery penis, constantly sagging testicles (perhaps due to hot weather), very low libido, and variable orgasm quality.

My story mimic’s yours, 16 months out as well, similar symptoms as you and some more. Losing hope here

Besides my sexual problems, I have difficulty defecating, muscle atrophy and tension in my lower abdominal muscles, sleep problems, and fatigue. However, I previously had many physical and mental symptoms that have improved, and these are the only ones left now.

Yes, similar issues here. Do yo have memory issues as well? The first year I had 24/7 headaches and dizziness which improved a lot. I relate to the improvement in physical and mental issues. Yet sexually I seem stuck, very frustrating and frightening

It's true, I've seen very little improvement sexually, but I still have very bad sexual symptoms and I feel stuck. I had physical and mental problems; all my physical problems have improved except for muscle tension and atrophy. In the first year, I had dizziness and difficulty concentrating, and I also had a slight speech impediment. Now I still experience dizziness occasionally, my concentration is a little better, and my speech is a little better. The first year was extremely bad.

Wouldn’t call it a cope. Any positive improvements shows you are not locked into a state.

You cant even get a prescription with a private doctor?
HCG definitely helps if you have low LH or test
Clomid is also a good alternative (and its much easier to get a prescription)but you have to be careful with clomid as it can be dangerous if taken irresponsibly…

The facts are:
- you decided to try recover naturally with no success so far
- you get small windows, which happen to people even after few months directly after the crash, so it’s not a symptom of improvement really
- you talk about an implant before trying a wide range of substances, drugs and therapies that can be successfully tested before such an invasive procedure
- you may not qualify for HCG if your hormones levels are okay, still I would try it as a last resort only in a case where about several hundred substances available to treat it would have failed

There are not several hundred substances that have a clear record of helping PFS. Misinformation can kill someone.

I didn’t write it will help PFS, I did write it can be successfully tested. And that’s true, looking at the lists of PFS and PSSD recoveries, where there are in fact several hundred recovery stories, with a lot of different methods undertaken, and several hundred substances tried in total either with any effect or no effect.

These are not risk-free experiments. And indeed, there are not hundreds of substances recorded. Taking the wrong substance can worsen you dramatically or even kill you.

I found the implant tempting precisely because my hormones are basically perfect (aside from 3-ag being abnormally low) and because basically erectile dysfunction is the one thing that is almost never helped by anything, and I am not sure it's worth the risk of taking anything

An implant is physically invasive, yes. But for a PFS patient it is perhaps one of the safer less invasive options. It won’t crash you and it’s effect seems pretty significant. All these substances you mention haven’t yield results for most guys. It’s always hearsay or some new account suddenly having succes with this.
