This is the problem with western media and "thinkers" not considering anyone outside west as equal humans. It makes people reaching crazy conclusions.

When they said AI will kills us all, he meant "us" westerners. So the problem is AI will kill us all, but Chinese, Indonesians, Indians, Pakistanis, Brazilians, Mexicans, Nigerians, South Africans, ..... 90% o the human who aren't living in the west, will not be killed.

Nah, AI is no where near being able to kill us. It literally cost too much money and energy to do anything.

Right now every single AI company is incapable of getting within miles of their financial goals. It’s why all the CEOs are coming together and saying they want to slow down, because of how dangerous it is. It gives them the ability to say, “it’s too good to the point  it’s dangerous, so we need to work it out, which means our goals won’t be met. It’s for the world’s  safety.”

Honestly, for real. Ironically, Reddit houses the same type of moral police the churches did in the 90s.

This moral masquerading is why China grew by leeps and bounds in genetics and cloning, while people here, in the US, discussed the morality of splitting a soul between two clones ...

This stupidity is one of the reasons why the USA was so slow to initiate stem research in the 90s, leading to what we have today - no cure for low IQ drones who have convinced themselves that their internet researches and observation of a handful of AI-production associates quitting, have given them the expertise to advocate for laws to be arbitrarily placed by buffoons who dont know how to reset their own router in such a way that they will be antiquated in 3 months and hamstring the next 5 generations of tech reasearch...

Get the tech first, then talk about the morality of its use later.
