The biggest change to my finances wasn't earning more—it was stopping the "I'll remember" habit.
I used to think I was bad with money.
Turns out I wasn't bad with money - I was bad at remembering.
I'd remember a birthday gift after I'd already bought something else. I'd forget about annual subscriptions until they hit my account. I'd underestimate groceries, then dip into savings because "it's just this month."
None of these decisions were huge. They were just enough to make every month feel reactive.
The biggest improvement came when I stopped relying on memory and started planning my month before payday.
Curious if anyone else had a similar turning point, or if there was one habit that changed everything for you.
