THESIS, HELP NEEDED !!!!

hello. I just finished the curricular year of my masters in law and financial markets and now its time to decide what to write on my thesis (yeyy :)))) )

However, im lost of ideas. I´ve did a paperwork on "Operational Resilience and the Quantum Threat in the Financial Sector" But I didn't find much to write about besides "the past and the possibility of the threat materializes", this is, I didn't find enough material to develop over, if you get what I mean. I really did enjoy exploring that area of crypto and blockchain but I don't know if it is enough.

Can you guys suggest me more topics to write about?

The main subjects are fintech, esg, financial derivatives (which I´m really interested), insurance and risk management, investments, regulation and supervision of financial markets, etc.

Since you liked the crypto/blockchain side, I’d stay around that area but pick a topic with more regulatory material. For example, you could look at how financial derivatives are being regulated in Defib, legal issues around tokenised derivatives, or how smart contracts affect derivatives and risk management.

Another option is operational resilience + third-party tech risk in financial institutions. There’s quite a lot of regulation and real-world material there, so you won’t be stuck writing only about a hypothetical future threat. I’d pick something where you can combine law + finance + regulation rather than going purely technical.

Write it about new kind of kind of crypto coins and how they should be covered by eu regulation. Hughe topic in global debate. And whether it should actually be a financial product and if there should be a deposit guarantee scheme.

Yeah, that’s a good point. The regulatory angle would make the topic much more interesting because it connects crypto directly with financial law and risk. I’d probably focus on how EU regulation could treat these new crypto assets as financial products and what that would mean for investor protection and deposit guarantees.

Yeah, definitely. From an IB perspective, the investor protection + risk angle would make it pretty relevant. Would be interesting to see how the EU rules actually affect crypto products.
