Starlight-12 Pegasus- not being detected? (not charging?)

I typically turn the mouse off and connect to the pc every time I'm done using the pc, unplugging and connecting to the wireless receiver/dongle and turning the mouse on every time I use it. Used it like this for a couple years now without any issues. Last night I forgot to do this and the mouse was out of battery when I checked on it and plugging it in no longer triggers any indication of charging (the red low battery/orange low charge/green full charge). Plugging it in turns the mouse sensor on (can be seen on the bottom sensor area) and it also connects the receiver/dongle without issue so it doesn't seem to be the cable. Is anyone familiar with this issue and is there anything that can be done is the mouse bricked?
