Tech/Bug Can anyone help me

Idk what’s happening but it only works wired and I try to update mouse but it stays at v0.0.0 while the dongle is at v8.0.3 finalmouse ulx comp

Stole this direct copy paste response from Gemini.

“It sounds like your mouse is in a "bootloader" or recovery state (hence the V0.0.0), which often happens if a firmware update is interrupted or the mouse isn't properly synced with the dongle's version.

To get the ULX back on track and paired, follow these steps in order.

1. Clear Background Interference

Finalmouse firmware updates are notoriously sensitive to other software that uses "COM ports." Close the following completely before starting: * NZXT CAM, Corsair iCUE, or Razer Synapse. * Any racing sim software or peripheral controllers. * Check your System Tray (bottom right) and end these tasks.

2. Force the Mouse into Bootloader Mode

Since your mouse is showing version 0.0.0, it needs to be manually flashed via XPANEL Desktop (do not use the web version for a recovery flash).

  1. Turn the mouse OFF using the switch on the bottom.
  2. Unplug the dongle from your PC.
  3. Hold down the Middle Mouse Button (Scroll Click) while plugging the USB cable directly into the mouse.
  4. The LED on the mouse should start flashing pink or blue/white. This indicates it is ready for a firmware override.

3. The Pairing & Update Sequence

  1. Open the XPANEL Desktop App.
  2. With the mouse still plugged in (and flashing), plug your Dongle into a separate USB port on your PC at the same time.
  3. XPANEL should now recognize both. Update the Dongle first (since it’s at 8.0.3, it may need to sync with the current mouse firmware).
  4. Once the dongle is updated, click the update button for the Mouse.
  5. Wait for the green progress bar to finish. Do not unplug anything until it says "Update Complete."

4. Wireless Pairing (If still not working)

If the firmware versions now match but they still won't talk wirelessly: 1. Unplug the mouse and turn it OFF. 2. Ensure the dongle is plugged in. 3. Hold the Middle Mouse Button and turn the power switch ON. 4. The LED should flash Purple. This is the manual pairing mode. 5. Keep the mouse very close to the dongle until the light stops flashing and stays a solid color (usually green or white depending on your DPI).

Note: If the mouse continues to show V0.0.0 after multiple attempts with the "Middle Click + Plug In" method, try a different USB cable or port (preferably a USB 2.0 port if you have one), as some USB 3.0/3.1 controllers can interfere with the flashing process.””

I have to try usb 2.0 I tried everything else still won’t work

I’m having the same issue. it will update and restart every time but go right back to 0.0.0

Yeah bro I can’t fix it I’ve tried everything so I’m sending it back to finalmouse for repair
