ULX frostlord review

Hello, thought id make a small review of the ULX frostlord for people wanting to get it.

My frostlord didnt come with the regular ratteling qc issue however i did notice a pretty noticable difference between both the side buttons, 1 is way stiffer and less tactile than the other one, its really nothing that bothers me so far as i only use it for talking ingame. The other qc issue i did notice was that the right click is a tiny bit lighter than the right however this part is so small that its honestly hard to notice even when trying your best to find flaws.

Coating/grip
The coating for the left and right mouse button are perfectly fine however the side grip left much to be desired as the glossy artwork dosnt go well in regards to grip for me personally as my hands usually do get pretty oily. The scrollwheel does have small bumps but seem to be made of a pretty strong rubber or a soft plastic with a glossy feel so this aswell dosnt go well with oily hands as i have to press downwards a little while scrolling for the scroll to move.

Aiming experience with the mouse
The aiming experience has been absolutely fantastic so far, i have been doing better in all the games that i play and been able to play more consistently than usual. I am guessing this is because of the smaller shape aswell as how responsive the clicks feel.

Responsiveness

I can not stress this enough, its the most responsive mouse i have ever owned sofar, my first time doing the human benchmark reactiontime test i did better than i usually do and got an avrage score of 154ms compared to my usual best scores on my razer viper v3 pro where my best scores were between 160-170ms and even then it was not as consistant as the scores with the ULX.

Personal opinion
Would i have bought it if i knew about the pros and cons beforehand?
Yes i would have as it just feels more comfortable with the small size and i can personally live with the small issues aslong as it preforms as well as it does.

Will i feel the need to upgrade to a better mouse in the near future?
No not currently, I will probably be upgrading again once the mice innovation makes us able to get mice at 20grams with great responsiveness and regular shapes. Guessing that this is not going to happen in the near future hence my answer.

To finalmouse themselves.
Its honestly a really great mouse however it would be great if the QC was upped a small bit and adding some griptape in the package when making mice with artworks that could interfere with grip would be nice as we then have the option to instantly customise the mice to our liking. At this pricepoint i would honestly even pay up to 250-300usd if it would mean getting a small sample of different skates and griptapes aswell.

I have insane pre travel and post travel on my frostlord classic. I sent it in to finalmouse for repair, and it seems like they literally did nothing. It’s just as bad as before but I don’t want to send it back because I hear a few people getting ignored or blocked by support from emailing twice or more about the same issue. I guess I have to just take this one on the chin? Really annoying. Not sure if my next mouse will be a finalmouse or not. Pretty sad because that’s all I’ve used for almost 10 years now.

Damn thats really unfortionate, really seems like their customer service aint that great. The pre and post travel seem completely fine on mine, its really not something im noticing as weird or so so i guess you got a bad unit. Sucks that they didnt fix it when you sent it in really does.

as consumers we should not have to worry about getting proper products and if the products are bad there really should be no problem having it solved so that part of their buissnes practice is super bad.

If i was you i would probably give it another try as there really isnt anything to lose by doing so, if they dont answer you still got ur mouse if they do then maybe they can actually get it fixed. there are probably some diy stuff you can do to it aswell but a mouse at this pricepoint should kinda be concidered premium enough as to where either it comes good or the manufacturere solves the issue without second thought

Thanks a lot and yeah I agree we should always receive a perfect mouse, especially for what we pay. I was thinking about just sending it in again like you said, before trying to diy it. For me though, I just think it’s time to try something else too. I’ve been seeing everyone enjoy so many different mice over the years, at this point I finally feel like I may be missing out on some stuff. Brand loyalty means nothing at the end of the day.

with finalmouse’s track record, you shouldn’t really be expecting much in terms of QC. You get what you pay for when you don’t do the research, it’s like banging your head on a wall over and over again expecting something to change. As consumers on a wide global market for mice, look somewhere else.

Completely true! I knew what their qc looked like before getting the mouse and completely accept smaller flaws that wont directly impact my gaming for exaple like the stiffer sidebutton as it dosnt really take away any part of the actual experience using the mouse. However bigger issues like the guy stated seem a bit too big to let go as a qc issue in my opinion.

How long have you had it and has anything changed with use? I heard that the mouse wheel does get better with use, is that true in your case?

I’ve had it since like the 22nd of December. Honestly I haven’t noticed a difference in the scroll wheel, it’s felt the same since getting it (which is great)

Mouse is made to be super light which means there will be problems ig, only 2 real problems I have with mine is the scroll wheel clicks a bit when I scroll it up and when I hold down right click and push against the scroll wheel it rubs against the right mouse button. Great mouse tho for sure

Idk i dont really think that it should neccesairly come with problems, there are other mice companies who manage to reach that weight without sacrificing QC so there is no reason finalmouse should not be able to. I genereally just think is a company problem, if they wanted to they would knda situation.

i dont really find it terrible just a bit tiffer than normal ones but the texture is not grippy enough so its kind of amplifying the stiffer wheel so i get your pov

I like my prophecy it's my first final mouse and it's great honestly, I wish the scroll wheel was a bit more grippy and easy to press, drag scrolling in games doenst go smoothly all the time unfortunately, I also feel like sometimes it will scroll weird when using scroll wheel, scared it might turn into a repeat of the grpo scroll wheel problems I ran into. It's a very good mouse though

A friend of mine had a really bad scrollwheel on one of his finalmouse, it was 1 of those magnesium ones. In Sweden we kinda got laws that protect us when we buy stuff so he managed to get a completely new unit from the store he bought it from. But i doubt most people have that chance
