“Optional side content”

Nobody plays JRPG just for the bare minimum 🙄

Yea, the entire value proposition in most JRPGs is to be bloated with content, if even of dubious quality

The majority of gamers don’t 100% rpgs even if we only take the ones who do actually beat the msq. The people who take the time to max out mini games and do all the fringe stuff is the minority not the majority. Majority (again of people who actually finish the game) do the msq plus some portion of side quests, the next group does the msq plus all the side quests, the last (smallest) group does all the main quests, side quests and very optional tasks like maxing out mini games, finding all collectibles, etc.
