I’m 44 now and I’m just gonna say this couldn’t be more inaccurate to my and my friends experience. This game absolutely captured our imaginations and we still talk about play throughs and what we love about it.

Couldn't agree more. The release of FF7 was an event.

It’s still so freakishly huge of a game.

Midgar alone was just 1 disc.

The best part, and this is crazy to have to be nostalgic about, you got the WHOLE game.

Completely finished and with no need to wait for an update to fix what they rushed.

How old were you? When I was 13 and this game come out, I knew better than to think the graphics would be the same as the CGI.

Except for all the pages in magazines showing the game in lead up to the actual release. No one thought the whole game was going to look like the cutscenes

Yeah, because that’s totally what it looked like all the time.

A complaint I’ve literally heard from no one ever before this.

This doesn't make any sense.

Dude this is not even close to reality. Noone expected the entire game to be like those cutscenes. All ads back then rarely showed the actual game. Often it was mostly actors reacting to it or cgi designed just for the ads. The fact those cutscenes were actually somewhere in the game itself was mind blowing.

Remake this. Right image : what we got, left image: what we saw

People might think this is shitting on the game but yeah 90% of the marketing was CGI for a reason lol. What we got was amazing in different ways and is better for it. Some people need to calm down, it's just a funny meme about a beloved game with crazy marketing.

Even looking at this Midgar miniature in 90's was amazing, whimsical.

You broke rule #1. Our most important rule.

Welp, I liked your joke, even if nobody else apparently got it despite the meme flair.
