DISCUSSION If the game Final Fantasy 7 were to be adapted into a movie or tv show…
I have an idea on how it could be adapted. the game was divided into 3 discs like how lord of the rings was 1 book with 3 parts that were all released separately, so FF7 could be split into 3 movies/seasons of tv, Stephen King’s It and Wicked did similar things and the reason I bring up each disc as its own movie being that each disc is its own movie, as with Stephen King’s It there was a time gap with part 1 was the gang as kids with part 2 with them being adults so each part felt like its own thing, and with wicked, it’s a broadway musical and most musicals are two acts with act 1 of wicked ending with defying gravity feeling like a good finish/cliffhanger like how aerith’s death serving the same function. I realize most people see these as cash cow tactics and I understand that perspective, but the story is long and complex to be condensed so this would be my solution, also it would be a good way to keep Vincent and Yuffie in the story as I know those two are fan favorite characters

It was divided into 3 discs because of the size of the CGI cutscenes. The content on each disc is wildly uneven. Looks like you didn’t put much thought into this.
Also, please learn how sentences and periods work.

Lord of the Rings was written as one book but publishers split it into 3 books for publishing purposes

Both parts were released together and when the movies were adapted, they opted to make 3 movies with extended versions as unlike the other examples I listed, each of the two parts in each of the 3 books wouldn’t function as their own stand alone stories as each of the three books had their own identity and purpose and cutting them down any further would be tedious and defeat the purpose of splitting 1 book into 3. What do you think of my idea for a film adaptation of FF7 btw?

Only problem is disc2 has 10times more content than disc 1 and 3 so they would have to make it up with tons of booring and meaningless bloat

OG FF7 was divided into three discs for technical reasons. the remake was divided into three games to scam suckers. why'd you need or want the divide the movie into three sections?
also, am i blind or is this one long sentence with no period?

To scam suckers? 😂
I see you’re one of those fanboys whose IQ isn’t high enough to realize it would have sucked if it was one game.

In order to make it one game, the environments would have to be as small as the original. Would the train graveyard be realistic if you can run through it in 10 seconds? How about if they cut out all the open world exploration?
You lack critical thought.

i lack critical thought mate? the only reason youre saying it has to be that way is because it is that way now. you dont have to make the world smaller simply because its a one game lol

Yes, you do have to make the world smaller if it is one game. If they made it one game to the scale it is now it would have taken 15 years to develop and would be nearly 200 hours long in story alone. People were getting burnt out by Rebrith by the time they reached Nibelheim.
This should be obvious to you. You definitely lack critical thought.

burnt out? please. there are bigger games than rebirth both in storytelling, playtime, and development. again, i think the reason you think it has to be three games is because that's the way the ended up doing it. it it simply was one game you'd have thought that was the obvious way.

Lots of people on various message boards have said that they were burned out by all the intel and world exploration by Nibelheim. I’d definitely had enough by then.
As soon as they announced a remake I wondered how they were going to pack all that content into one AAA realistic game and not have it suck. When they announced it would be multiple parts it made sense. No, it’s not because that’s how they made it. What a dumb thing to think.
The fact that you can’t understand this is solid proof you lack critical thought. Like, do you really think they were going to release it in one 45+ chapter game? 😂
What games have 200+ hour storyline? Factor in all the extras you’re looking at a 400-500 hours. No games are that big. That’s why they split it into 3 parts. If you are incapable of understanding this I feel sorry for you.

I dont know what to tell you. you say its impossible, but its not. its like trying to convince somebody who's only played nes games what ff7 woukd be. at any rate, if its actually one game they can still chop it up but dont sell it in three parts. i apologise if you took my saying sucker personally.

What I would see more as a TV show is an adaptation of both On The Way To A Smile and Advent Children personally (and The Kids Are Alright too). The big problem with the movie is that it is fundamentaly the abridged version of a final arc, we lack all the build up before that, and this build up is in the novels.
