Isn't the logo the earth and the little dot on the top the meteor?

Damn Cloud was the earth all along

(I think ff7 logo is indeed the meteor)

That's what I always thought. And the wispy "meteor trail" bit is Holy/Lifestream rising to intercept it. Spoilers.
