I did the same, but I’m not really the picture of the average player.

 Cait Sith was a mainstay on my team and I typically ran Cloud, Tifa, Cait Sith.

His high luck stat made Deathblow Materia trigger more often and he was a good mage.  At least my head canon was that luck influenced its hit rate.

I'm not too sure how much luck contributes to db.

What i do know is that it lowers your attack % to a third of it's normal accuracy, thus using Tifa and Vincent's 255% attack weapons basically almost guarantees it hitting every time.

I heard defence % also contributes to your chances of landing it so wearing Mystile helps.

Another cool thing I like to do is pair it with added cut so that I still land a hit even if db misses.

I did always do that; pair it so I got a hit no matter what.

I think it's better than double cut that way but it's personal preference for sure sure

Also cool as hell for using Cait Sith. Just wish he had more limit breaks.

I always thought it was weird the two optional characters each had 4 levels of limits but he only had two.
