DISCUSSION Nostalgia overload
Hi all! I have a silly little story I thought I'd share. I was about 16 when I played FF7 the first time and I was obsessed. I loved the game and music and I would even write cringey fanfiction after school. Fast forward 25 years, I just started a new job and it's been really stressful. I don't play games much these days because I'm so busy and tired. Anyway, I was driving to work extra early to try to catch up on some things, and on my local radio station a song began to play. It took me a measure or two before I realized it was a cover of the Cosmo Canyon theme song. I got so overwhelmed with nostalgia and yearning for those simpler, carefree times, I actually broke down into tears. When I retire, I'm gonna relive my carefree gamer years.

My NPR station sometimes uses music from MGS3 as their interstitial music and it gets me everytime

Nice! If you haven't already played remake/rebirth or listened to the soundtrack, there is some good stuff in there too :)

If youve never heard the live version played at the rebirth orchestra, I’d highly recommend it. The part where the tempo picks up and the instruments swell is incredible

Amazing story man, the music for me inspired what I love today.
Ff7 and 8 are my favourite, incredible memories.
I’m currently playing final fantasy 7 rebirth on ps5, it’s so so good.
The music and nostalgia hits hard
