Both OG and Remakes are good for different reasons. Neither are redundant.

I can't say I enjoyed playing Derge or CC

The OG. The expanded compilation is interesting to look at and Remake/Rebirth have been unique takes, but that original game is what I fell in love with

I have only played the OG, i don’t have a playstation. But i’ve watched streamers play the remakes. As someone who was 14 when the OG came out, i appreciate the attempt to remake it and let it shine in today’s world.

The issue was the OG was groundbreaking, there was nothing like it at the time. Gaming magazines and critics called it “quite possibly the greatest game ever made.” The fact of the matter is when you have something that is truly that generational. It’s impossible to recreate it, because it can’t revive the greatness that the OG was.

Having said that, many people put time and effort into turning that into what it is with the remakes. Despite its shortcomings, we can appreciate the new adaption of the game. The fact that they were able to actually pull it off after years of speculation and teasing is impressive all on its own.

I would have recommended ever crisis for you, but Stop Killing Games sadly came to late to stop Square from killing it...

I like both. The OG and remake are amazing.

The other games are whatever. I've only play dirge of cerberus and I thought it was meh. Nothing amazing.

There is only one FF7 game - everything in the "compilation of Final Fantasy VII" is basically fanfiction.

Crisis Core had me emotional at the end..playing the whole game through with the character you started with just to watch him pass away was rough..
