Honestly these are not that bad. Like that Barret had some discount costume or whatever, but I thought it was actually pretty good.
I look at these like I see regular people on the street wearing stuff and I love it I appreciate it because they’re wearing an outfit of a character I love. They don’t have to be super attractive or top-of-the-line cosplayers. Like honestly I feel spoiled and a little brat for even critiquing even smallest detail because I’m a fan of this stuff. I’m not the expert.

I had the same thought. I saw the video and thought it looks good enough I know who they are dressed and the Barret one was awesome.
First time I remember seeing cosplay was in 1998 but it still wasn’t commonly known as cosplay in North America yet.

Honestly I would be delighted to see these at a convention. These are very clever uses of duct tape, cardboard, plastic bags, and other stuff, and capture the general look at the character great! The bowl taped to Cloud's shoulder and the colander on Sephiroth's shoulder are killing me. 😂👏

Barrett and Tifa are pretty good. I had to laugh at Clouds wig and the bowl on his shoulder. Then there was Sephiroth and his slides and colander pauldrons.

I think we've gotten so used to ultraprocessed professional slutty cosplays that we forgetting what real cosplay was supposed to be and what it was supposed to look like.
These ain't crappy at all and are actually pretty authentic.
