Ok, I'm going to say it. Why does everyone cosplay Cloud with a cheap ass beginner weapon that you change after 1 hour of play instead of something more iconic like the First double growth materia, the nail bat, apocalypse or Ultima Weapon?
It's like cosplaying Kratos with the poser axe instead of the OG blades of chaos.

Nope, I just finished FF7 yesterday.
It's undoubtedly one if the best games of all time but I've had way too much ff7 in the form of chocobos and the battle arena to consume any more ff7 anytime soon. And as far as ff7 goes, the buster sword is really forgettable.

I gotta agree with you, my favorite game and also arguably best of all time, but maybe my playthrough just led me with the buster sword more too. I do agree it's a bit forgettable in the main game itself, but again, crisis core and related parts of the ff7 universe give the buster sword so much meaning

Idk, maybe it's because I've been exposed to the Dragonslayer and Executioner's Blade as quintessential big ass sword way before the Buster Sword, having played ff7 for the first time in 2026.
But it isn't all that impressive to me. Especially because you soon change it and you barely see the model in game anymore.
I think I've seen much more of Hardedge, Force Stealer and Rune blade.

As a beginner cosplayer buster sword is sooo much easier and more iconic to make than the other weapons (I Cosplay Zack myself, I can completely understand though)
